Beautician said her relaxer only last 4 weeks

This really goes to show you that alot beauticians really don't know that much when it comes to healthy hair care. And the fact that she said the relaxer is made to last 4 week makes no sense at all. Relaxers are permament so they last until you cut it off...it's your virgin new growth and how quick your hair grows that determines when you'll need your next relaxer

I would suspect that your average woman would have SOME new growth at 4 weeks, but not enough to touch up..

I got a touch up about 5 weeks ago. The beautician said that she was suprised that I had not made an appoinment for a touch up because the strenght of relaxer she uses only lasts 4 weeks. She said it was less damaging than relaxers that last 6 to 8 weeks. I've never heard of this. I thought how long a relaxer lasted depended on growth rate. Any one heard of this? She said some relaxers are made to be applied every two weeks?!

That's a perfect way for her to double the amount of money she gets from you in one yr.

Truly sad. I would love to know how many poor souls she suckers every month with that mess.
