I used the 'SUPER" formula. The skin around my hairline, ears and behind my ears is burned/scaly/crusty/itchy/GROSS.

the next day, the areas I applied the balm to were tingly but not burning...

this is almost a week later and the areas are clearly damaged/burned,etc. (Didn't know how serious this was until I saw layers of crusty skin coming off last night from my right ear. Thank goodness. I thought my ears and hairline and forehead would be sporting this leathery skin forever.)

BE CAREFUL!!!!!

:boxing:(take that, Dr. Miracle!!! i wanna box the company in the ears)

Someone list the ingredients please! My co-worker gave me her jar after saying it made her edges peel and dry up.

I said i'd take it but i'm picky bout what i put in my hair and i wont let anything touch my scalp til i know what the ingredients were.

Ingredients were NOT listed on the jar. What the hell is in this stuff so i can throw it away?

OMG! I hope it clears up soon.

I guess I'll have to stick to castor oil on my hairline since some of the faster methods can't be trusted.

Nevermind, I stopped being lazy and got the ingredients and instructions...Read This:

Promotes strong, shiny, healthy, growing hair

My Dr. Miracle's Temple & Nape Gro Balm is my prescription to help promote growth in the temple and nape areas.

'Feel It' Formula's tingling sensation supports strong growing hair and healthy scalp.
Thermalceutical(tm) complex pinpoints scientific ingredients directly in the areas that need it most.
Stimulates blood flow to the scalp in the temple and nape areas.
Balm continues to work even after you stop feeling it.
Our families secret for the problems with your temple and nape... now it's yours!

Excellent on relaxed, braided, weaved or natural hair

How to use: use twice a day for 30 days and evaluate your results. Massage into the temple and nape (back of your head) directly into the scalp. Now experience my 'Feel It' formula. May be used on your hair as a finishing touch. Leave in. Style as usual.

Ingredient: Aqua,styrene/ acrylates copolymer acetate and acetylated lanolin alcohol, panthenol, zea mays oil, tocopheryl acetate, simethicone, polysorbate 80, hydrolyzed soy protein, hydrolyzed wheat protein, zinc ricinoleate, glycerin, mineral oil, oleth-10, oleth-20, dea-oleth-3 phosphate, eugenia caryophyllus leaf oil, menthol, parfum, caramel, FD&C yellow #5, FD&C orange # 4, DM DM hydantoin, tethylparaben, propylparaben, BHA
That's a whole lotta chemicals going on. I guess the menthol, wheat protein, and soy protein help aid in regrowth?

When i smelled it, it sure smelled potent. LOL Straight menthol smell.

thanks for the well wishes , and for the ingredient list MizzBrown--I threw my box away.

Yes, a lotta chemicals in there. And WTF is up with all that coloring?? I don't need my prod to have color! (it's like an orange-y shade)

I remember when i didn't know so much about hair products...i bought some dr miracles cream that u woudl put it on the scalp and it would tingle....i then heard that it burns some's scalp..... I THREW that shyt in the garbage can.

Okay, this thread has given me the ok to throw away my Dr. Miracle's Gro-Oil. I tried to use it up, but I hate the smell & I learned how to make safe "tingly" concoctions w/ essential oils thanks to LHCF.

I will say, however, that I think the oil works....just don't like the smell. Never tried the nape balm.

I don't see nothing good in there, except the protein. How are they not going to post the ingredients? That's fishy.

okay!

I don't think I've ever heard anything good about any Dr Miracle product.:nono:

me either

I had the same problem so I switched to the "SUPER" Hot Gro (Hair & Scalp Conditioner) I use that after I apply my MIZANI ROSE H2O when I am wearing a bun. I think with any product, you have to know what your hair is sensitive to. I have seven sisters and some swear by Dr. Miracle and some do not. A little product goes a long way. I think I used too much product when I applied the former, nevertheless, I stopped using it, because I did not like the burn look around the edges.

You should contact the company immediately. These complaints and cases are reported to the govt. They should compensate you in some way...at least return the money you spent. I had to double read this...thought you were talking about a hair relaxer. A temple balm burning the skin of people? YIKEs!!!!!!!! Please contact them.

Okay I used this stupid product and it actually thinned out my hairline. I completely forgot about it, but mine is going in the bin today

This sounds horrible. Thanks for the warning because I know my mom recently bought a couple dr.miracle's products :nono:

Thanks for posting that it was on sale at a place here and I was going to pick some up. I don't think my scalp would appreciate that.

I know this is an old thread, but just as another opinion. I love the Dr. Miracles products I used. The leave-in conditioner and the Anti-Breakage strengthening cream. I have 4B hair that takes in moisture and becomes dry quickly if I don't pay attention.

The Leave in conditioner is one of the few things I use on my hair that pretty much keeps my hair soft all day. Granted Glycerine and water will do the same thing, but I like to switch around and I'm constantly looking for things that will keep my hair soft.

Ugh, Dr Miracle is a terrible company that sells terrible products. :nono: I really wish they and their offensive ads and smelly grease chem-soup products would just dissapear :ohwell:

...that being said, thanks for the warning.

The only thing I use from that line is the relaxer, which works fine for me. I don't care for their other products, didn't really work for me.

The reason this stuff burns is because of this: eugenia caryophyllus leaf

It's clove oil!!! Clove oil is no joke!!! If you have a toothache and rub it on your gums, it'll burn the fudge out of you and then your gums will go numb. Sometimes when I have a toothache, I will use it and if even a smidge touches my lips, the spot will burn like a beeyotch and crust over. This stuff is so potent that if you have had your teeth extracted and you get dry socket (the pain from it is exxxxxxxxxxxcruciatingggggg!!!) and put some of this in there, it will numb the pain almost immediately. I used it in the holes in my mouth after my wisdom teeth were extracted.

Long story short: clove oil is nothing to play with.
FNWL: Clove is irritating to the skin and mucous membranes, so extreme care should be taken when using on the skin. It must be diluted to less than .75%
