I noticed all the BBD products are on sale on this site. The BBD Stretch is $29.99 (usually $45) and the other products are on sale also (BBD Glass, Keala oil etc).

This is a good time to try them because I did not want to pay full price

ETA: The shipping is $9.95 on the BBD Stretch

I was acutally thinking about purchasing it but............ I changed my mind. I am really becoming a product junky.

Are any ladies who co-wash using it. I can't imagine myself using this W/HEAT EVERY NIGHT. That is very time consuming. I'll just stick to my regular co-washes. Unless I hear enough reviews to change my mind.

I tried to purchase "Glass"... something is wrong with that site... It kept ringing up my order at $0.00, even though I had "Glass" in my cart (cost $12.99). It would not lemme pay via Pay Pal nor my credit card.... again, cuz the total was $0.00!

I've heard great stuff about the "Glass". Pink_Flower uses this I think.

Thanks so much for posting this! I was gonna purchase this from BBD but had reservations...stretch for only $30 now I can definately afford that!:)

What makes it worth the big bucks?
How is it used?
Does it grow the hair?

It's a growth creme with 22 amino acids in it. It is also a 24 hour reconstructor, meaning it allows you to Stretch your time in between relaxers (use it on your ends to end breakage and splits). I've only heard good stuff about this product on several hair boards.

Best results come from using with heat.[/QUOTE]

Does that mean that it is not a good idea for a person who co-washes to use it, unless they plan on using heat with every co-wash?

Here is thread on BBD stretch

It does not growth the hair. It is a reconstructor to help stop breakage and helps you retain moisture in your hair.

Best results come from using with heat.

Correct. It doesn't grow your hair, but strengthens it. However, I never used it with heat. I have used a little bit of Stretch and Glass together as a smoother/ curl definer, but I got the same effect using any other leave-in conditioner.

Yeah I was visting the Irbys website yesterday and happen to come across thw present sale they are having. Does anyone know how long the sale is going on for? I am interested in making a purchase, but I have priorities that need to be taken care of this week.

Mine Just Came today, It is a very light pink creme that smells like bubble gum. (Its almost as light a s a facial cream) The consistency of Oil of Olay comes to mind.

I will post my review after two weeks of daily use:

The directions of the Jar are long...I typed it up for you ladies..cause I know someone out there would have done it for me..here goes:

Directions
For Fine hair apply a nickel sized amount or more of the 24 hour Stretch Growth Creme to the hair; Medium hair apply a quarter sized amount; corse hair, a half dollar sized amount (According to the dryness of your hair you will apply more or les)

Some clients use it everyday, some every other day, and otehrs only once or twice a week. Apply as often as the hair feels dry or as often as teh cuticle (the outside scaly layer of the hair) swells.

1) Roller Sets: Apply desired amount ot hair along with BBD Lactate Fast, and proceed to roll. After rollers are removed apply Keala Oil.

2)Blow Dry & Curl: Ad desired amount ot hair along wiht BBD Lactate Fast with Keala Oil and BBD Spritz and proceede to curl

3)Finger Waves: Apply desired amount to hair and desired amount of BBD Lactate Fast along with BD Styling GEL

4( Apply a small amount along with the BBD Lactate Fast and BBD Extra Setting Lotion. Sculpture hair and proceede to the hair dryer. Apply Keala Oil after hair is completely dry

5) For Relaxers, Curs and Naturals: Saturate the head with Growth Creme until the head is totally coverd, place a plastic cap on the head, and set under the hair dryer to 30 minuites.

This is not a conditioner - a conditioner coats. This is a penetrating reconstructor. Reconstructors penetrate and deposit protein in the inner hair shaft. Moisture is the key to hair growth. This product contins no animal fat, therefore it has the potential for maximum penetration. This water based product containsa special blend of reconstructors that work together to sustain hair growth. This product gives the hair elasticity and ability to stretch and contract back like a rubber WITHOUT BREAKAGE!

Many of of thought that curls gave the hair the (becaus eo fthe Ammonium Thioglate). It wasn't the activator used in our curles that allowed har to grow longer and faster without breaking! 24 Hour Stretch Growth Creme is the first of its kind. This is a daily penetrating moisturizer/reconstructor that you may apply as often as the hair feels dry. If the hair feels dry and brittle, it is left vulnerable for breakage. The less stress on the hair shaft , the stronger the hhair becomes. If the hair stays smooth, the result of moisture in the hair is sustained growth. Many hair dressers and clients feel that grease and fats when pressed into the hai rkeeps the hair healthy, but it is only temporary. **The following is in red** You cannot sustain hair growth from greases and fats although they have their place**End Red** For instance if you were to drop fat into a cup of water, it woudl resist the water. The water in the cup "is your hair" and the fat "is the conditioner" There is no penetration. Fats will eventually evaporate but will not penetrate.

I just ordered the glass. I know i wont be using it anytime soon, but I couldn't fight the temptation. :ohwell:

okay, I ordered the BBD glass when this thread was created and I have not received my products yet.

The woman at IRbys is very nice but she gets her BBD from BBD himself and apparently he is upset that she is selling the BBD Stretch at a lower price. I just got off the phone with her yesterday. She was very upset and said he would not send her the items as long as she listed them at a discounted price on her web site.

If you have ordered lately there may be a delay in shippment if you are able to get them at all. I will be refunded if BBD does not send them.

Sorry to tell ya this. I almost forgot I ordered them

I know this sucks! I spoke to mr.BBD himself and he said that he may be putting off the whole internet sales etc...basically I was interested in selling some of this product, I tried to order wholesale from them but he said no, because he was having some 'trouble' with the whole internet thing:ohwell: I was more than peeved...

I ordered last Tuesday and have yet to receive my product and got the same response from Irby that they were about 1 week delayed in receiving their shipment from BBD and that they would refund my money.

What a shame - trying to give a black man business but sometimes we focus so much more on the money than building our clientele and market that we may just run ourselves out of business.

This is the email I got from Irby's:

Hi Tammy,
I don't think we will have BBD products any longer. BBD doesn't want us to advertise the products online and won't supply us any longer. If we are able to get the products again we can't advertise online and we can discount them because BBD is selling online now and they sell for the full list price. Right now we have a few jars of Glass, Yank-Wave Gel, Keola Oil left.
