Is anyone familiar with this product? What do u think of it? Does it work? How often do u use it and in what manner do you use it--with or w/o heat. All reviews are appreciated. Thank you.

I use it quite faithfully. It is an awesome product. If your roots are really dry and you are concerned with breakage, just massage it into your scalp and new growth. It's suppose to work with heat....heat from a dryer, blowdryer, or friction from massage. I've sworn off heat, so I just massage. My hair is a relaxed, mixed texture of 2,3 and 4a. I let a friend of mine try it, and she has EXTREMELY COARSE WOOLY 4B hair. After one week, she said it was the best thing she ever used, and it will allow her to stretch her relaxers. It is a 24 hour reconstructor, that IS safe to use everyday.

Here's info from the container: (It's rather lengthy, so I'll cut it down) :look:
===============================================
USAGE: Press & Curl, Relaxer, Roller Sets, Afros, Finger Waves

Directions:
Fine Hair - Apply nickel sized amt or more to hair.
Med.Hair - Quarter sized amt
Thick Hr - Half Dollar amt
**Apply more or less according to dryness of your hair.
**Some use it everyday, others 1-2x per week.
**Apply as often as the hair feels dry or as often as the cuticle (outside scaly layer of hair) swells.

ROLLER SETS: Apply desired amt to hair along with BBD Lactate Fast, and proceed to roll. Apply Keala Oil once rollers are removed.
**THE OIL IS DA BOMB!!!!!! BEST OF ANYTHING I'VE EVER USED**
BLOWDRY & CURL: Add desired amt to hair with BBD Lactate Fast with Keala Oil and BBD Spritz and proceed to curl.
FINGER WAVES: (does anybody wear these anymore??) Apply with BBD Lactate Fast and BBD Styling Gel.
WRAPS: Apply small amt with Lacate Fast and Extra Setting Lotion. Sculp hair and proceed to hair dryer. Apply Keala Oil after completely dry.
RELAXERS, CURLS, AND NATURALS: Saturate hair until totally covered. Plastic cap and under dryer for 30 mins.

HERE'S ADDITIONAL INFO ON THE JAR...
This is not a conditioner, a conditioner coats. This is a penetrating reconstructor. Reconstructors penetrate and deposit protein in the inner hair shaft. Moisture is the key to hair growth. This product contains no animal fat, therefore it has the potential for maximum penetration? This water-based product contains a special blend of reconstructors that work together to sustain hair growth. Thsi product gives the hair elasticity and ability to stretch and contract back like a rubber and WITHOUT BREAKAGE!

Many of us thought that curs gave the hair the ability to grow faster (because of the Ammonium Thio). It wasn't that, it was the moisture in the activator used in our curls that allowed hair to grow longer and faster without breaking! 24 Hour Stretch Growth Creme is the first of its kind. This is a daily penetrating moisturizer/reconstructor that you may apply as often as the hair feels dry. If the hair feels dry and brittle, it is left vulnerable for breakage. The less stress on the hair shaft, the stronger the hair becomes. If the hair stays smooth, the result of moisture in the hair is sustained growth. May hair dressers and clients feel that grease and fats when pressedinto the hair keeps the hair healthy, but it is only temporary. You cannot sustain hair growth from greases and fats although they have their place. For instance, if you were to drop fat into a cup of water it would resist the water. The water in the cup is your hair and the fat is the conditioner. There is no penetration? Fats will eventually evaporate but will not penetrate!

I LOVE this stuff.

I recently purchased it again from irbys, just a couple of weeks ago, thanx to LoriLOCX. She had mentioned it in a post and told me where to find it online. I could only find the glass before. I havent used it in a year or two. I had gotten a skin reaction and I stopped using a bunch of products including the stretch, because I didnt know what was causing it, and just didnt go back to it. It had also become very hard to come by and at first I was able to get it for 15 bucks then it kept going up to 45 which was just too much for me. I could only find it from my old stylist. I was able to get it for aprox 30 bucks at irbys including shipping.

The stretch is very good. It retains moisture in the hair. It was real popular at the salon I used to visit because people who couldnt grow hair before were able to because it didnt just snap off. Everybody had long hair. Its non greasy, smells good, and comes in different colors like pink, blue , yellow...etc. You can use it everyday, it wont revert your hair, but you may have to worry about buildup over time. My hair was definitely healthier with it which is why I had been looking for it again. I guarantee if you have breakage because of dryness or heat damage this will stop it.

The irbys site says to use heat with it but I never used heat before, I just used it when I wrapped my hair up. You just need to use a little bit. I think you can use it as a wash out conditioner but I never used it like that.

The glass comes in different colors too but I was less pleased with it. It made my hair hard and it seemed to flake or have a film when I wrapped with it. I only purchased it once. I dont know how it would work using a wash and wear type of thing since at the time I was relaxed and wore mostly wraps and roller sets. I hear a lot of good things about it from other folx, but I just didnt care for it. I may try it again tho. My old stylist used it for wraps, finger waves, roller sets. You can use it in place of gel to smooth your hair back.

Ask lori about it and also try ccd. CCD had asked me about it once but I dont know if she ever actually purchased it. I could only find vague references online when I searched for it before. I eventually came across the company info but they never answered the phone and that was a couple of years ago. I'm so happy I have a place to purchase it. One jar will last at least 6 mos to a year (when I'm not giving out samples to friends that would keep asking what I was using. I'm such a pushover :) )

I agree. I dont think you will regret it.

Another tip: Try not to get any water or anything in the product, like after washing hair. It changes the smell of the product after a while. It still works the same but not as pleasant. I put what I'm going to use for a while in a smaller container.

Also if you are trying to grow your NAILS this stuff is the bomb. I discovered that after the nails on my right hand that I used to dip into the container, which normally chip, had started growing longer than the ones on my left. Just rub the residue into your nails, or alternate hands, and they will have length in no time. :)

Can this creme be applied to the ends also or just the roots? I might be interested in trying this especially since I started going longer for touch-ups.

The ends are the best place for it. I wouldnt apply it directly to the scalp. Just the actual hair. A little goes a long way. I used it after a shampoo by rubbing a little thoughout my hair while it was still damp. And at night when I wrapped my hair up I would put it on my ends and wrapp it up. You dont want to use enough to make it wet when putting it on dry hair. I wish I would have been able to find this again while I was transitioning. I searched and searched. I had even broke down and called my old stylist but she was out of it. I probably would have had zero breakage. This will probably be wonderful for you by helping to keep your hair from snapping where the relaxer and newgrowth come together.

Sorry this is so long. :)

I had used this product while I was transitioning for a while. I remember liking it. Not sure why I stopped using it (I think I got bored, the whole pj thing)...I found the jar and about half of it is left . It still appears to be good, so I'm going to start using it again on my natural hair and see how it works.

I started using it again about 2 weeks ago, and must say I do love this stuff. My jar is almost finished, so I also ordered another. The price Irby's is selling BBD products is a steal because I did pay $45 for my first jar.

How do you think it will fare on rollerset hair. I hear its pretty thick

I have the Strecthing Growth Creme and the Curl Glass. I must say ingredients or not that stuff rocks I also purchased the Keala oil and my daugter uses the flat iron silkening lotion. I ordered from Irby Beauty Online and they have great customer service.

I really like all the products. For curly heads use the glass and strecth with a plastic cap. Wear at night and you'll get very moist and defined curls. For relaxed hair use the stretch and flat iron silkener.

Use Keala oil on all types as a finisher.

The product it'self is thick, but not heavy, if that makes any sense. I don't think you'll have to worry about it weighing hair down, stickyness, hardening hair, etc. You only used a nickle to quarter size amound depending on length and thickness. I don't think you should have no problem at all with your rollerset.

BBD Stretch is suppose to be used with heat. It is thick and a little goes a long way. It is awesome used to roller set. It gets even better when you use it with the BBD Silkening Lotion and sit under a bonnet dryer.

I ordered the BBD Stretch Creme and my hair loves this product leaves it soft, moisturized and silky.
I need to order another jar this product sells really fast.
