Has anybody tried this and are there any other good castor oils to get. Cause I want to buy it today to aid in my hair growth.

Nessa,
I think what you're talking about is a moisturizer that contains castor oil. Its not plain castor oil. Plain castor oil is found in the pharmacy section and is usually in a brown bottle.

I've tried the Castor Oil Moisturizer

, but not the hair grease in the jar. IMO, you would be better off getting some pure castor oil from the health food or drug store. I've seen it at Wal-Mart with the laxatives and antacids. I've never tried it, but a lot of people like the Home Health brand castor oil.

Hi Nessa,

I have this product. When I blow dry (once every 6 weeks or so) I use it and it keeps the hair soft and pliable but it didnt seem to come in handy as a general moisturizer. Its much to heavy and made my hair stiff.

Nessa, I use this on my daugter's natural hair and it has been great. I recently started using it also as an aid in retaining the length of my hair. hth

ee Tee and ArmyQt,

Thank You for telling me. Because I want to buy it cause I want to retain lenght and make my hair grow grow grow. Thank You for answering.

I've used it before (in the upright bottle). I think it works well on newly relaxed dripping wet hair. When my new growth starts kicking in, I think it's a little too thick and causes build up (although I rinse my hair every night).
As for growth, I think pure castor oil is a good start, but don't expect anything to work overnight. Growing hair can be a long process that requires a lot of dedication--ask some of the ladies around here. But good luck. I think you're getting a good start.

I think you should give the B&B brand a try first. If you don't like it, then I suggest trying the HB kind, although it is really thick and greasy. I personally love the stuff. When I was younger, I used to use the Isoplus one. That one is much more smoother in terms of heaviness. It all depends on what you're looking for. If you don't like one, you can try the next, and if you don't like the next, try the third. I am a PJ, I must warn you, so I am refraining from telling you to buy all 3. Besides, I don't think it's necessary. Just use the process of elimination.
