A gentlemen friend of mine recommended this to me, because of my so-so diet. I haven't tried this yet, but he is a health nut, and I trust him when it comes to health and fitness. He said nonchalently that he has recommended this to many of his freinds who do not eat right, and one side effect is increased hair growth.I'm guessing from the Alfalfa. After checking out the site, and reading the ingredients, I see why. Has anyone taken this, or heard of this. Its a dietery supplement in the "green food" category

I have never heard of this. It sounds interesting and I too don't eat like I should.

I like the concept since I am in college and trying to eat healthy at where people like to chicken fry everything is darn near impossible.

Hi Tamala, I use barley max too but the alfalfa free one. I confess I am a health nut too. Yes one serving is considered the equivalent of 1 serving of green veggie(1 cup leafy greens).
Yes alfalfa is said to increase hair growth. Give it a try

Thanks beauty, I may just have to invest in this.
When and how do you take yours?
How is the taste?

Hi Tamala,
I too follow the same diet that your friend does.
Basically three teaspoons a day is the recommended daily serving.
I use my first teaspoon mixed in a glass of water( it can be eaten straight off the spoon too) in the morning before using anything else.
then my second serving a half hour before lunch mixed in a glass of carrot juice but it can be taken without the juice same as in am . The third I take in the evening with the carrot juice a half hour before dinner.
I have no problem with the taste because basically I am into the whole healthy eating scenario.

It can cause detoxing because it cleans out the body.

What hair and health results have you had taking this Barley Max?

Hi Isis ,
Sorry I took so long, My kid just started school so i was a little busy.
To answer your questions. First off I take the alfalfa free barley max so no hair related issue to report. But health wise using the barley max allows me to have three servings of green leafy veges without a fuss(no tearing,no chewing u know what i mean). Overall green veges are green veges It never hurts to have some more.
Hope this answers your question.
