Why did I think that you literally meant don't sleep on them. I was ready to see pics of some disastrous occurrence. I was like is it breakage, bending, matting, what is it girl?

Well I must say I have never tried them but you have definitely convinced me to get a pair. Your hair looks GREAT!:yep:

I got mine.....lol. It helped get past Shoulder Length: Very cute Ms. D

That style is super cute! I love it!!! Looks like that pony tail is just a-swangin' too!!!! :D

I had seen 'Nessa (from Bernie Mac show) do a style similar to that, and i had vowed to try out a banana clip myself too. But i'd forgotten all about it til this thread. So thanx for posting this!!! ;)

Hey Ladies,

I love banana clips but I gotta warn ya, back in the day they used to break out your kitchen area. These were a staple for me and lots of my friends in middle school +14 yrs ago..and the clips broke off mine and my friends hair.

Just giving a heads up!

Yeah the lil ball/socket thing will do that if you are not careful. If you wrap it in a piece of satin (I use old sleep caps/du rags in the same color as the comb) really tight and tie it off in a tiny knot it basically eliminates that problem.

Very cute! How coincidental, because I was thinking about banana clip just yesterday :) I was reminiscing over how convenient they were back in the day and how I used to wear em' to death.

That's a really good idea!

That's so pretty. I haven't used a banana clip in years but I'm going to get me some now. Thanks for sharing.

:lachen: :lachen: :lachen:Yeah, I still have a few of these from the 80s. I guess its a good time to break em back out. See, everything eventually comes back in style... :p

YES! I used to wear these in the 80's as well. I didn't know they were back, let alone sold in stores.

OP: Your hair looks great!

I forgot all about these! I used to love banana clips back in the day. I haven't worn one since I had a Jherri Curl back in the 80's. I'll be making a trip to Walmart on my lunch break this week to pick some up! :D

Same here. I, too, was a Jherri Curl victim back in the day, and I would sport banana clips on the regular.

Ahhhhh, memories.

Go to Claires, they have some that dont break easy.
Banana clips bring back memories. When I was in middle school they were very popular. The girls would put their hair in a ponytail and then put the banana clip on:perplexed ......I never got that. Anyway, I bought some last year to try with a wash n'go but I took them back. You've inspired me to try again. Your hair looks very pretty too.

That is a cute style on you..the curls are nice. I saw a girl the other week with one on and her hair was all straight about APL or a little longer. It was cute too...

this is really cute. especially with the curls. i saw in your album that you airdried your hair and it looks great! i really want to try this look but my hair is too thin for it.

Got this from a friend on another site and Love Love Love it...
It's a BANANA CLIP!!!

I simply airdried my hair (using Sylver's scarf method  ), put in some Carusos, then the banana clip and Viola!!

Don't sleep on this ladies... it's a great time saver ESPECIALLY when in the middle of a stretch and wearing !!

Thanks for the tip! Your hair looks great! What is Carusos?
