Or atleast 8 hours... Who does it?

I want to do it. I started my first day at work today and it looks like I'll be outside a lot. I want to baggy under my hard hat. Anyone have similar experiences or want to share how baggying during the day helped or hurt you?

Humidity and moisture grows hair like crazy so I hear. :yep:

Hey i just revisited baggy as my first time i think i was having problems (using products that didn't agree with my hair)

Baggy all day. I see no problems...If a problem arise I will adjust accordingly. Plus its 94 degrees here in Texas...I don't want my hair drying out as I'm trying to reach my next goals.

I think I will be using a very small amount of conditioner..probably something safe like giovanni

I've never whole head baggied, but I have baggied in ponyails for a day or more at a time. I use a teeny bit of moisturizer, maybe seal with a few drops of oil if I feel like it. My hair has never been overmoisturzed and I've never had breakage doing this. Less is always more when it comes to baggying :yep:

I do this overnight, once per week and then wash out in the morning. So my entire head has a plastic cap on it for about about 15 hours. I then put a scarf over it, so there is a lot of heat and steam generated. My hair is soaking wet in the morning time and all of the ayurvedic oils are deeply penetrated. I think that it's done wonders for my hair and growth. I have a lot of growth in areas that had been lacking.

Im excited about doing this tomorrow. I'll get to get away from the buns for a while while helping my hair and growth.

Hey I am doin the baggy thing my self it seem like my hair just got hard a dry over night but I live in florida so I know why my hair is so dry and I do not want it to break off I am tryna make it to APL

I baggy all night, every night, other wise my hair would be as dry as the Sahara Dessert :nono:.

I moisturise/seal (especially my ends), put a shower cap over my whole head and then put on a satin bonnet. I also sleep on a satin pillow.
EXCESSIVE, I KNOW :ohwell:.

I baggy my ends under a wig everyday. Have been since December 07 and plan to continue until I get to WSL.

My ends feel like HEAVEN.

I baggy for days on end...

I took my braids out yesterday, used a clarifying shampoo and then let the hair dry. Then I applied Ojon restorative treatment on the dry hair and put a baggy on

I meant to wash it out today but I am lazy so I will wait until tonight (that will be about 30 hours)

the trick is to not use something that is very watery. Ojon is almost like oil so it doesn't drip or make the hair too wet that it breaks.

:bump:

Now that I have a 'REAL' moisturizer for my ends I've been doing this all week. I finally understand and see the benefits of baggying....I'm all late...lol.

PinkPebbles...
What do you mean by a real moisturizer?

Well, the moisturizer that I'm using now is allowing my ends to stay soft and moist all day. I have a home-made moisture spritz that consist of spring water, honeyquat, and SAA. I also use a dab of NTM on my ends.

I think the home-made moisture spritz on my hair is better than the commercial brands.

Sounds interesting. Share your recipe. I love the fact that LHCF members experiment and mix their own conditioners, oils, etc and just find the right substance!!! :)

I baggy days on end like Cutiebe2. I baggy every night and if I will be wearing a wrap or a hat, then I keep the baggy on. When I get home, I may take the baggy out to satiate my hand-in-hair disease and redo a few braids till it's time for bed and then on goes the baggy again.... You get the idea.

Never had a problem w/ it. I don't use products so I don't get the sort of drips one might w/ products. Sure, my hair gets damp, but it's something no one else but me ever gets to know.

Hi PinkPebbles, this is such a wonderful idea that you inspired me to make my own leave-in until I order my Giovanni Direct leave-in

Here is my new mix:

1/4 oz of aloe vera gel
1 cap full of SAA
1 cap full of Honeyquat
1/4 oz of glycerine (Optional) I really love how this makes my hair feels.
2 oz of left over African pride braid extension sheen spray (Optional)
4 oz of Eqyss Premier Natural Botanical Rehydrant Spray (replaces the water).
A dollop of V05 Volumizing conditioner(I chose a little of this to thicken my mix a little).

I have so much stuff lying around that I thought I'd just get up and mix some things together and guess what? I sprayed it on and my scalp and hair is super soft and moisturized:lick:. This is an awesome way to keep the cones, mineral oils and petrolium products out of my hair:yep:. Tonight I'll saturate my hair with it and baggy with it, sealed with a little glycerine or Jamaican Black Castor Oil.

Yes, that sounds like an awesome mix! I'm glad it worked out for you. In the near future I'm going to buy the aloe vera juice and add it to my mixture:)!

Thanks PP, I just put my recipe in my fotki:yep:. I hate when I put a good thing together and not document it, then I gorget it and get mad at myself so I scooted right over there and put it in there. The aloe vera is always a good addition to our hair mixes.
