I'm new please help me understand what bagging means - thanks:)

Hi coconow2007

Welcome to the board....baggying is when you apply your moisturizers to your hair seal with oil and place a sandwich bag over the ends of your hair or you can place a plastic cap over your entire head. I usually use a cheap conditioner like suave or vo5 and seal with extra virgin olive oil or coconut oil. Hope this helps if not i'm sure someone else can explain it a little better.;)

Thanks sweetcoco:
Should my hair be wet or dry when I apply the bag? Your son is a cutie it seems like yesterday that my son was that young now I look up to him, 14 yrs old and close to 6'2'.

For a visual on what Sweetcocoa described, check out DSD's pictorial tutorial:

You can also baggie/baggy the whole head as discussed in this thread:
Baggie entire head..How to?

Most people apply some type of moisturizer to dry hair. Maybe some do apply it to damp hair? No idea! I think since the baggy helps the moisture penetrate the hair, you'll get better results after a moisturizer of sorts.

ETA: Saran wrap and plastic bags have also been used in lieu plastic caps. ;)

Hi again....lol....it is totally up to you whether you baggy wet or dry. You should try and see which way you like best, I actually do and like both ways.

O by the way thanks for the compliment my baby is getting so big....it seems like just yesterday I was being told to PUUUUSSSSHH...lol. I think my kids are going to be taller than me also because my 4 and 5 year olds are more than half my height now and I am about 5'5 but their father is about 6'4 or 6'5 so I am not shocked.
