Okay, I stretched for the first time when I came across LHCF last year. Prior to that I was perming every 6-8 weeks. Looking at my pocket calender from last year I even saw that a few times I've permed at 4 weeks once at 3!
I had a short cut and couldn't stand the unkempt look that can come with new growth.

Anyway the first time that I stretch it was more beneficial then harmful.
But there was some harm done. There was breakage that I'm still trying to nurse back to health.

I started another stretch on the second of Feb. and intended to texlax at 12 weeks post.
I noticed with the MT/Oct mix and Lenzi's Request and WGO use that I had increased growth rate. Therefore, I had more ng then usual.

I was beginning to come into that stage where my ng was becoming a little scary. Very, very, very little breakage was beginning to occur at 5 wks post. I just couldn't stand the thought of unnecessarily(spell check please) losing hair.

So yeah you guessed it I went on and texlaxed with Ors on this past Saturday.

I'm going back to 6-8 wks.

I feel so guilty:wallbash:

But the way that I look at it like it is if the stretching is more harmful then helpful it's not worth it anyway.

Still, I feel like such a quitter.

Have any of you ladies fell back from stretching and went back to your normal relaxing/texlaxing time frame?

hey girl. Just came by to tell you that the main purpose of stretching is to not to overlap previously relaxed hair. It's not always the length of time...it's the amount of new growth. So if you have enough, then go ahead and relax, especially if you are using growth aides.

It may take me 10 weeks to get the NG you had in 5 weeks. Everyone grows at different rates. Girl, you should be fine!
