Hair product junkie reloaded!
The unthinkable has happened....the dreaded go-in-for-a-trim-but-come-out-with-a-CUT.......
..I was so close, you guys! SO close! My hair was soooo long when I stretched it and this only after a little over 2 years worth of a fully natural head of hair. I really wanted to cry because it was NOT my intent at all but I ended up conveying the wrong message!!! usually it takes my barber about 15 or so minutes to trim my hair and he knows i only be wanting the ends but today I messed up by saying stuff that he musta took to mean otherwise. I am too through and I had to keep my composure. I've never been disatisfied with his trims...cuz they were actually trims! lol.....
Anyway,i was a walk in....and I told him to just trim my ends. he verified, "just the ends, right?" And I'm like "yeah" and then I said, "I be wanting to where my hair out but my fro don't look right" or something to that affect and I said how I'd like to eventually shape my fro...mistake...I should never mention "eventually" or "future" anythign to a stylist/barber with scissors and trimmers in their hands cuz they may not hear the part that means "not now but at a later date!"....Then I am seeing hair flying everywhere and I thought honestly that maybe it was hella shedding because earlier today I had a LOT of hair that was in my comb that had shedded off. He showed me the mirror and I was in shock but I kept on smiling...my heart dropped!!!!! I KNEW I shouldda said "o more than half an inch" or somethign like that but I just ignored my own instincts....
Ladies..in about 30 minutes I went from having hair that was to apl when stretched to just below the ears....I really wanted to cry!!!!
I'm trying to look on the bright side...my ends were scraggly and my hair was very uneven......now it's pretty evened out (though the barber said if he evened it out totally he'd have to cut a lot more so I was like NO!!!!) and now my fro is shaped better....and now I can quite easily do a wash'n go (it will be warm still for another couple weeks)...........it's just, I didn't expect to start at square one and it's my fault for not saying something but I apparently was delusional the whole time
...back to the drawing board I guess.
