I got this for Christmas - a Babyliss Pro Instant Heat Ceramic Hair Setter - and I don't know what to do with it. I have no idea what to do with my hair before, during, and after and whether or not it will be beneficial to my hair overall. I've read about Carusos and steam, etc. but I haven't seen anything in the forum about one like this. Please share with me everything you know so I can make a educated decision about this appliance rather than just an assumed and hasty one. I'd really appreciate any info.

I have a setter like that. They are hot rollers. I use them in lieu of a curling iron occasionally when I want curl. My hair is relaxed and I cannot use them on my hair unless it is straight. Otherwise the curls are too puffy.

Well, I've never used that BaByliss appliance before, but I have their Thermal Ionic Dryer and I love it. It works really well and I know not all companies make products of equal performance all the time, but your product looks really good too.

I looked up the ceramic and ionic hair setter on Folica.com:

You can read reviews and see directions on how to curl using this appliance.

HoneyDew- Thanks for responding!
So how are you drying your hair before hand? Air, hood, or blowdrying? and are you also using the flat iron prior to? I can definitely do without the puffy curls. I'm trying to figure out if this is an alternative to wet roller setting but I'm clueless on everything regarding these.

Actually my setter is just for touching up curls for my hair when it has already been straightened (is that spelled right :)) with a rollerset or flat ironed. I don't use them often because of the heat, but the velvety covers are sp much better than the curling iron, I think.
