Ladies, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR WELL WISHES AND KIND WORDS!!! The products are one thing, but you all are my inspiration in a lot of ways.
I'm sorry I'm several days late, school is killing me, but I'm going to do my best to answer everyone's questions.
1.) I always use oil, Amla and Coconut or Vatika alone. Oil suits me better if I don't have a lot of new growth. So I guess in a way, I'm always prepooing, because I comb my hair at night and tie it down with my bun. The next day, I only have to take down the scarf.
2.) I only use Shikakai and Amla for powders, that's it. I use 2tbs of Amla and 1tbs of Shikakai. I put them in my coffee maker with 4 c of water to eliminate the grit. The coffee maker was only being used for decoration anyway. This is the only tea rinse I will use.
3.) Once its cooled I let my hair soak and sit for about 10 minutes tops, then rinse. Someone asked if I can comb my hair after the tea rinse, but honestly, I don't try to b/c I can tell my hair is stiffer/stronger. I immediately put on a cheapie condish, like suave Coconut for about 10 to 15 minutes.
4.) Then I deep condish with CON (purple label), ORS replenishing pak ( I found a big bottle at the BSS to keep from buying the small paks), or Organix Coconut Milk Conditioner for 30 minutes or so.
5.) Once I have rinsed out the conditioner, my hair is soft and ready for any other styling options.
Someone asked if I have noticed any change in hair color, I have recently only because I just did a conditioning henna treatment prior to my relaxer. Its very subtle and blends in with my hair so I'm not complaining just yet.
I buy the Amla Oil from my local BSS who also just introduced me to this all natural shampoo b/c she has Shikakai on back order. I like it and its easier, here's the link for the picture. Its the shampoo with Aritha, Shikakai, and Reetha all herbal and I got it for $6.99, so I'm excited.
