My hair is currently should length but I know others with different length would want to know too. I currently use one tablespoon mixed with two other moisturizing powders.

Someone mentioned she mix hers with baking powder (or is it soda, can't remember), is this better?

Mixes her ayurvedic powders with baking soda?! please don't do/try that. That is a first!!

As far as cleansing with shikakai, if I'm doing a tea rinse, I use 2tsp along with 1tbs maka. If it's paste, then 2TBS shikakai, 3tbs maka - into a yogurt, almost watery paste.

eta: either way, I'm leaving the tea/paste on for anywhere from 30min-2hrs. HTH
