Avocado oil?

I use it all the time. I don't mind the smell...its light. I use it mixed with moisturizing condish the night before I wash. I apply like a relaxer from root to tip and then I braid into french braid, put on my headscarf and rinse it out the next day when I wash.

I love avocado oil! Two thumbs up. It's one of my staples and I know its the reason I retain plus my other staples.

I mix it with EVOO and grapeseed oil for my hot oil treatment. It's kind of thick, the smell is a stronger smell in my opinion but it doesn't bother me. It applies really easy ad makes my hair nice and soft. And any tangles in my hair had due to massaging my scalp with the shampoo in it practically melt out once I apply the treatment.

It doesn't have a strong smell to me. I mix it in with EVOO or any skin lotion I have.

Its a heavier oil though not as heavy as castor and it works best when I mix it with other oils. The smell is kind of light and it doesn't bother me.

Mine doesn't have a strong smell. When I first started using it I mixed it in pre-poo. However, I read somewhere that it's a good oil to use to protect your hair from the sun. I run 3-5 days per week and my hair isn't as dry as it was prior to using it before a run

It's a all around great oil. Very nice. And it penetrates the shaft, and when I used it, I had a very nice shine.

You won't be disappointed and the scent was non-offensive. I think you'll love it.

Avocado oil is great! As IdareT's Hair said, it gives shine and penetrates the hair shaft.

It is a medium on the heaviness scale, and it has a nutty smell. The smell is not bothersome, though I'm typically not bothered by most smells.

I sometimes apply avocado oil on top of my conditioner when I want an extra shot of protein.

I use AvO bc it's moisturizing. I add it to my DC's. Like some of the other ladies here have said, I usually mix it with other oils. I have a pretty sensitive sense of smell, and have no probs with this.

i love avocado oil! i don't really smell anything. it works great for oil treatments! i need to pick some more up. i ran out a few weeks ago.

If you leave it in and lay your head anywhere, it will be an oil slick.

Otherwise it's fine for rinsing out lol

Avocado oil is one of my staples. I agree with faithVA about its consistency, that's pretty much a spot on description. I DO use it mixed with other oils as a leave-in, because I don't have to seal for 3-4 days after, but it takes probably 2 days for it to fully absorb :yep:.

Out of every oil I own (and there are a LOT :look:), it's one of the few that I panic over when I'm about to run out.

To me avocado is an extra virgin olive oil on steroids: it looks/smells/feels similar but it is more effective, more greasy and more concentrated.

wow, i guess I'm the only person whose hair didn't like it. made my hair hard, though I used it straight and didn't mix with any other oil.

Its a staple though for my shea butter mix, my skin loves it !!!!

I mix it with about five other oils. My hair doesn't like when I use only one oil- I have to mix them to get really good results on my hair. Using avocado oil alone or any oil it just sits there on my hair.

I liked avocado oil, but it was more expensive and doesn't make my hair shine like coconut. I'm not a great fan of the smell either.

I love avocado oil, don't know where my hair would be without it. Only the unrefined green oil though, the processed golden colored oil doesn't make my hair as soft. My daily moisturizing oil is a mix of unrefined coconut and avocado oil and sometimes a little SAA for shine and strength.
