I would have to say coconut oil because of its many uses. I love dcing with it, use it on my face, use it to seal and for extra shine.

where do you guys get ur coconut oil? I love the virgin coconut cream from FNWL http://www.fromnaturewithlove.com/soap/product.asp?product_id=oilvirgincocon. It smells soooooooo good, but the shipping to Canada is crazy. Is there anywhere else that has that coconutty smelling organic coconut oil?
I got a gallon of virgin coconut oil from Mountain Rose Herbs for $37.00. They shipped it within 24 hrs of me ordering it. I don't know what the shipping would be like to Canada, though. Even with the shipping, it was worth it for me. At the Healthy Home Market (a health food store here), 29 oz Nutiva virgin coconut oil is $20.89. A gallon is 128 oz, so I just went for the gallon. I use it quite a bit, though - my skin, my hair...I mix it in with shea butter, etc. The gallon is good for 2 years from the date you purchase it.

I was trying to log into my account with them to tell you how much the shipping was for me, but it's still trying to access the page. Check them out - you can always add it to the basket as if you are going to purchase, and I think it will let you calculate shipping, if I remember correctly.

Neither. My hair doesn't like pure butters (Curls Souffle does have shea butter in it I think and that works), and Coconut Oil gives me the drippies and does nothing for my hair.

Castor Oil works for me! Never would have thought that would come out of my mouth! :lachen:

I've only used EVCO but I'm absolutely in love with it...the inner PJ is me is out of control right now...don't make me but some avocado butter

a client of mine gave me some avocado butter and i am IN LOVE. my hair is straightened right now, and at night i moisturize with coconut oil and seal with the avocado butter. BLISS!!! i think i like avocado butter better than mango butter....definitely gotta buy some of this stuff!

yesss, lawd. do i need to get the choir up in here?

avocado butter = love of my hair's life.

I agree with those who stated it depends on what you are trying to achieve as to which is better for you. I personally find that both are very beneficial and I wouldn't want to choose. For my 4b stands I've found that i've i'm twisting or braiding my hair butter works better, however for day to day moisturizing I like to use oil.

My hair loves avocado butter. After I wash my hair, I moisturize w/ my spray and seal w/ the butter.

I can only use cocnut oil as a prepoo, my hair doesnt repond well to it

I love EVCO. I put it on my hair, my lips, and as a body moisturizer. I also cook with it. I carry some in my purse where ever I go.

It moisturizes and I have noticed that when I started using it I started getting hit on a lot more. At one party (I had gained weight before it too), 3 guys asked if I wanted to go back to their places, and a girl even hit on me (random I know) and gave me her number. So I checked it out online and it turns out some people consider coconut oil to be an aphrodisiac.

Coconut oil hands down. Asians use it and have the hair to show for it. Besides avocado butter just never seemed to to anything special for me.

well theyre used for two different thigs but id have to go with my EVCO i looooveee this. I use it for skin, cooking, sealing, add it to DC's. it gives me an all over "glow"

I agree with the others who said it's like comparing apples and oranges, and i do own both since they have different uses, but gun to my head and I had to choose only one, I'd choose Coconut oil.

Fractionated coconut oil. The ablility to penetrate the hair shaft and the inability to solidify in colder temperatures. Oh, and it smells awesome!
