Is $30 too much to pay for a wash and trim? If so, what should this service cost on average?

That sounds about right. In my area its about 30-40 dollars and it includes a wash and blow-dry.

I've spent as little as $20 and as much as $40 for a wash and trim. I'd say $30 is average.
