Aveda Damage Remedy users

I just got my Damage Remedy Reconstructor that I ordered from eBay, and I'd like to get suggestions on the best way to use it. The instructions say to leave it on for 2-5 minutes, but for the price I paid for this, I know that it can be used more effectively.

Anyone that can help me out (especially you, MizaniMami! ), please respond...

I pre-pooed with it this last wash for about 20 min. and a steamed towel, and it worked better than when I cond. with it after I poo. I've only used it three - four times so I'm no expect yet, but just thought I'd add my two cents.

Hmmm, I'll try it as a pre-poo w/ steamed towel and see if I'll get good results. Thanx for the suggestion.

I've only used mine a couple of times, I think I may have to try the pre-poo that's a great idea.

I used it for the first time last night. I only bought the reconstructor. I poo'ed with my Elucence poo and then left the Aveda in for 30 mins with a steam towel. I worked out well. I need to buy the whole ADR line.

I would shampoo as normal then apply the reconstructor as a conditioner (with a heat cap for 15 minutes).

I never tried it any other way.

Are Aveda products good for naturals?

I used all three of the damge remedies, you have to be careful not to overuse. I am a natural and it makes your hair pretty soft. So you might want to limit your use. If you press your hair you may want to only use once every two weeks. I used it once a week for a month and my hair was extremly soft.

I consider it a light protein. I use this or Keraphix every wash!

Does anyone follow up with a moisturing conditioner? I know most protien treatments require you to do so?
