Aubrey GPB Deep Conditioning Instructions?

I just came back from the Vitamin Shop, and brought the GPB. I was reading the directions FOR DEEP CONDITIONING: Apply to dry hair and distribute from scalp to ends. Leave on for 15 minutes, then shampoo and condition hair as usual.

Are you guys applying before shampoo like the directions says or after? And do you condition your hai again afterward?

that's so funny.. i was looking at that the other day... it says it for some of his other conditioners as well.. i apply the conditioner after i shampoo my hair, not before...

it's not a typo because he recommends the same method in his book NATURAL ORGANIC SKIN AND HAIR CARE. i may try it one day......

Wouldn't you ladies be surprised to see that the product works better when applied BEFORE the shampoo? I think I may try it one day as well.

yep. i can see it now... that method will become all the rage here on the Board......LOL... he strongly recommends the method for damaged hair....

i wanted to try doing it before i shampoo and after... but i would probably be wasting so much conditioner...

Notice he said to apply it to DRY hair. That would mean putting lot of the GPB in your hair to sactuate the hair.

I've done this with my cheapy conditioners, but not with my beloved Aubrey Organics GPB. I always use that after I shampoo my hair.

I've done this twice and I liked the results. I was kinda skeptical about it because its a protein. I followed the instructions and used another conditioner after the shampoo.

Cee, did your hair feel any stonger or softer using this method than it does when you apply after a shampoo?

It was kinda weird putting this on dry hair but I applied from root to tip, covered with a plastic cap and waited for 15 mins. I thought my hair would be sorta hard but when I took the plastic cap off my hair was slightly damp but very soft. I shampooed and conditioned with Kenra. My hair was soft and shiny.

Since I pre treat before every shampoo I think I might do this once or twice a month. My only complaint is that I think it took more product to cover from root to tip when put on dry hair than when applied to wet hair.

I'm bumping this to see if anyone else has tried the deep conditioning instructions yet. I'd like to but, as SimplyCee mentioned, I am concerned about how much product I'd have to use to cover my hair when it's dry. So I'm wondering if the results are worth it.

OT: Sherrylove your hair is looking awesome as usual. Your hair grows SUPERFAST  What is your diet like? U can pm me.:)

I think Nexxus Emergencee instructs users to apply, rinse, then shampoo with a moisturizing shampoo. Don't know if the product is applied to wet or dry hair, though. I figure there's a reason that GPB changed their directions and required one to apply then shampoo, so next time I buy it I'll definitely do it their way.:)

Oh this is GREAT!!! I'm definitely going to try it this way -- this will be PERFECT for me since I can't stand the smell of the GPB anyway -- I will be MORE THAN HAPPY to shampoo afterwards!! :trampolin OH HAPPY DAY!!!

(I wonder if the smell is the reason they're saying to shampoo afterwards??!! :look: ) Good move on their part, I say, cuz now I might even repurchase this stuff when I run out!! The only drawback to it for me was that yucky scent!! :barf: )

BTW, I'm still using the 'old' version of Aubrey Organics GPB.

bumping!

i used the ao gpb as instructed an i love, love the results! it is definitely worth a try...yes, it is. also, it did'nt take as much conditioner for coverage but then again i am not at great lenghts like some of you ladies.

btw, lindy, that smell is unescapable! even after applying the honeysuckle rose (which smells wonderful) that gpb was still stronger (for days)

something weird i noticed with the gpb conditioner is that my hair gets softer each day after i've used it...i like it but it's strange.

anyway. ladies i highly recommend using the gpb as instructed.
