i always do a final rinse with cold water. i rinse my conditioner out with lukewarm water and then i fill a gallon jug up with cold water and a few drops of peppermint or rosemary essential oil and i stand over the sink and pour it all over my head. feels great!
my reasons are the same as everyone else...mainly to close the cuticle.
