Ladies which would be great for the summer months(light but ultra moisturizing)? My hair will be relaxed & short(spikey look) but I plan on wearing it wrapped as well.

I'd say the Heavenly Pudding based on the description of your hair.

thanks sweetie!:kiss2:

Two more questions:
-of the leave ins which would be great for the summer:silk rose or green tea?
-if you have tried her oils which would be better for summer:caliente or sunny d'Light?

tia

I use both leave ins........but green tea should help with the sun's rays.
Caliente is a deep conditioner...not meant to be used as a daily oil I think. I use caliente as a deep conditioner. Sunny'D light also helps fight the sun's rays...it also has honey in it

Hmmm, now there it is really hard for me to say what will work best for relaxed hair. I haven't tried either of those oils, just the Omega oil. If you don't get many responses here on what works best for relaxed hair, definitely drop Asha an email.

I've tried all of her products and I'd say that the green tea and the silk rose are totally different.

Green Tea has a pure water consistency and the Silk Rose has a thicker consistency because of the flax in it. I LOVE silk rose and have been trying to resist the urge to order more but will be giving in soon!

The oils are very similar except the ones with honey that are for deep treatments.

I think the coco de leche would make a nice daily nourisher for shorter hair. The pudding would be nice as well.

Why not get a sampler pack (if she still offers those)? Everyone's hair is sooooo different.

None of her products would be regrettable.

p1 thanks SO much! I went to her site and didn't see the sample pack. I am emailing her now to ask if it's still ava. and just isn't on the site. thanks again!

Ok, totally OT, OP, forgive me for hijacking, but I just wanted to say:

Patient1,

You are your hair are GORGEOUS!!! Beautiful hair, lady! Your bone structure is amazing!

And YES, it's regimen, not regime, not reigment, not rigamaro!

R-E-G-I-M-E-N!

Just a shoutout to you for putting that in your siggy because I cringe every time I see it.

No prob, Tishee.

And thanks Divine!! (cheesin' cuz of the compliment!)

Major hijacking but. . .

I HAD to put it in my siggy temporarily, cause I too cringe...not for me but for anyone making the mistake. I can just imagine some of my sistren going to other sites or saying ALOUD, "My hair regime".Like it's a hair army. A hair government!

When I was in college I started throwing around the word paradigm pronouncing the friggin G, short i!!! It wasn't until a year or so later that I said that to my roommate and she laughed thinking I was being funny...so I laughed along, but was stone inside. Just remembering all the times I had said paradiGM in seminars as if I was talking about Sugar Smacks or something. I knew what the word meant, but my pronunciation undercut whatever point I may have made.

I hope my siggy isn't taken the wrong way but for me, knowledge is power. I know my intentions and it might piss people off, but at least they'll be pissed and using the correct term.

 :lachen:  Girl we are totally on the same wavelength!!

I was dying @ hair army!!! I've often thought the same thing and just shook my head.:lachen:

Po' thang...walkin' 'round say paradig-um.

Girl, the people who get pissed are probably the ones who NEED to read it...the people who know better are probably glad it's there (like me)!

Divine, you're funny! And oh snap! You're in Los Angeles too!! You got me cracking the heck up. You should've come with me to Little India today so you could've spent some cash on a bunch of Indian hair oils. I'm surrounded by about 10 bottles with white women posing as Indians on the front!!!

P1

eta:This Brahmi oil smells like a marinade or something. One thing I'll say about Asha's: Everything smells good. (That was my attempt to atone for our hijacking. LOL!!)

:::gasp::: I wish I had known! I would have been down to roll!

Girl I'm the one who should be begging for forgiveness for hijacking...my entire post had nothing to do with the topic! Shame on me. :perplexed

Redeeming myself:
I'm gonna have to check Asha's stuff out though. I've been using shea butter in place of mango butter, but I'm open to creamy, moisturizing replacements.

There, I did it.

I'm leaving L.A. this summer (I need a BREAK!!) but we've got to get together before then. As long as you're not the crazy jilted girlfriend OR wife of this dude I know, then we should get along fabulously!!!

We can reup on some hair oils in Artesia, roll over to Simply Wholesome for some Crown Heights hair oil, eat (La Louisianne?Chinatown? Berthas? Roscoes? SoupPlantation?) hit The Room on Cahuenga, bowl @Hollywood and Highland, etc. Hey, I might have to plan a Leaving Los Angeles Hair Expedition. A whole crew of us!!

p1

Oh yeah...(clears throat)

Asha's got some goooooooood products! Um hm...yeah. Fo' sho!!!

 Um, no, no men in my life...:look:

YES!! You are speaking the truth...I've never been to Lucky Strike...I need to check it out!

And yeah, we could make a whole caravan. ALL of these LA chicks on here, and I haven't met up with anybody. :(

So yeah...I'll be the patient 1 (pun intended  )

Um...let's see...

I like green tea...I wonder how it performs as a product ingredient. :scratchch

Divine and P1, you guys are crazy.....BUT funny too:lachen: . But anyway, what's so special about Asha products? Can someone educate a sister!

Divine. . .I'll be pming you in the coming weeks. We have to plan this thang!!!

@bubble - Asha's products could be best described as more perfected models of certain Carol's Daughter products PLUS some stuff that Veteran CD never thought to create. Mane Attraction.....Healthy Hair Butter. Sunkissed....Mimosa Hair Honey. Coco de Leche.....Hair Milk.

Etc. etc.

Now if you don't know Carol's Daughter's products (can we all agree she's the founding kitchen mixtress???) then what I outlined above still won't make sense.

I know her products are good for natural hair and I'm pretty sure they're great on relaxed, texlaxed and everything in between. Mane Attraction is the heaviest product she has and I'd say Silk Rose (a thinner detangling leave-in) is on the opposite end of the spectrum.

hth,

p1

eta: i redeemed myself with that post, huh Divine?

Bump....I wanna get some Asha's sooo bad...

BTW, I know I'm late up in here, but I was searching for some threads on Asha's Coco De Leche...
