Ephesians 6:17 (NKJV)

What is the purpose for a sword? It is a weapon of offence. In Revelation 2:16, it gives us a pointed illustration on how that sword is used, it is used through the Words of our mouth. In II Corinthians 10:3, Paul explains to us that the weapons of are warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds. Jesus also indicated that the Words that He speaks are spirit and they are life. (John 6:63) In order to be ready for the battle, we must maintain a daily prayer life, consistent study of the Word and a determination to practice what we have learned. It is the enemies objective to stop the Word from coming out of your mouth. For us to walk in the victory that God our Father has afforded us through Jesus Christ, we must give full attention to the Word of God. In doing so, whenever the enemy attacks, we will have our minds fortified by the Word so that we can stand strong in the Lord and resist the devil. There is a battle that is going on and we must be ready for the battle. The good news is that Jesus has already positioned us to be winners, but it is up to us to walk in that victory.
