I've noticed more and more ladies who decided to cut before their stated BC date. Im 10 months post and I wonder if I am alone on this journey.:ohwell:

Is there anyone left?

I don't know what you consider long-term but I'm almost six months post-relaxer and going strong. Right now, I have no intention of BC'ing but I have to admit, these stringy, weak, straight ends are getting on my last friggin nerve.

I can't do a TWA so my "good" hair (what I consider my beautiful, thick, curly new growth) has got to grow out a lot before I start cutting.

I'm about 5 months post and I dont plan on BCing it will be awhile before I even think about that. I'm going to take my time and do some trims along the way. It's going to be a long journey for me but I'll get there and so will u.:)

Hi... I had planned to be a long-term transitioner, but by the time I looked around, I had so little left of my relaxed ends, any kind of trim would have been a full-blown big chop anyway, so last week, I just took the plunge. 5-6 days later went into shock mode so I'm waiting until my bearings all return to normal...but I'm not trying to scare ya!

It does seem like there was a string of us who did the BC within the last week or so.... I speculate that it may be a seasonal thing...it's been/it is SOOOO HOT that folks are just tired of hanging on to the raggedy ends, esp. when they're attached to some new-looking hair with all the possibilities....

I'm sure you'll find lots of support here! :)

I'm still here and going strong. It's been 15 months! :) Yeah, I'm such a chicken when it comes to the BC. I've been cutting little by little. I just cut 3 inches last month. It will be awhile before my next trim. I don't even have a date for the BC, so my transition is indefinitely.

Oh ok...**whew** feels better knowing that people are still hanging in there. I admire those who have taken the plunge (or should I say cut) early, but I know my mind isn't there yet. I wont do it until I know my mind and hair will be set. Good luck to all!
BTW. I dont plan to BC until either my next birthday (April) or just before the family reunion. So either at 18 months or almost 24 months.

Another long term transitioner checking in! :)
I've been transitioning now for little over a year, I have no plans to BC.
I plan to continue my transition for atleast 2 more years.

I'm a long term transitioner! It's a little bit easier for me though because I'm transitioning from a light texturizer that looks like my natural texture. I'm 7 months pos. I figure in about two years with regular trims, I will be completely natural.

I'll join you. I'm not going to do the BC but I am cutting about 1-2" every 2-3 months. So it's not a long transition. I think by next August all my relaxed ends will be gone.

15 months already?? WOW! Seems like just yesterday you started. Time flies. WTG :)

I may need to join "TA", Transitioners Anonymous. Hi, my name is dynamic1 and I am a looooooong term transitioner!

I have some relaxed ends left at my top layers. I think my last big trim will take care of them in September. July 2003 was my last relaxer.

I'll be doing a long transition, too! :) I have no desire to do a big chop. It would be too drastic of a change for me.

I am definately in for a long term transition. Its been over 9 months for me. I have to be able to put my hair in a ponytail. I have 2 young children and i dont have time to do twists and stuff like that with these 2 busy bees. I guess it may be another 1 1/2 years before i get all the relaxed hair cut off. I cut about 3 inches off 6 months ago. In a few months i may cut another 2 inches. But it will be awhile. I just going to be odd since i have a blunt cut. I'll have natural in the back and some relaxed on the top. But i dont want any layers.

Hey, :) I am attempting to. This is my second try since 2003. I stopped relaxing in Dec '05( 8 months post). And I hope to go another year or year and a half transitioning. It's not as difficult for me now. I have 3 very young children, so I dont have time to keep up hair styles, so I wear it up or pulled back most of the time. I cut a little off my ends to look neat, and my sis is going to press it for me soon, so I can see the length. My goal is still long hair.

I too am transistioning since June 2005. After 14 months, I have to say that I can't wait until these ends go "bye-bye". But until that time....I going to keep bunnin' & stuff till the BC!

I am going for a long transition. I thought about just going for the BC but my goal is to make it to armpit all one length and I am still going for that. I will keep it their or maybe a little longer until I am all natural. I am currently about 19 weeks or 4 1/2 months post.
