Are rinses bad for your hair when going natural?

I'm getting bored with my hair. I haven't put any color in it since June 08 and I really want to put a rinse in. I'm going natural and I would say I have about 4 in. of new growth. I DC every Sunday and one thing I noticed about rinses is that with dark colors, (burgundy, black, dark brown...) whenever your hair is wet, it always drips the color onto the towel or even on your shirt. Would you recommend me to put one in my hair? After washing my hair I don't put any heat in it so i'm thinking this would be difficult for me. Thanks!

I don't think it would be a problem. I'm no pro but I'd do it without worry.
