Are "Product Mixtures" really considered "More Than One Product" (???)

Fearfully Wonderfully Made
My hair doesn't like having too many products applied to it, but I just made a product mixture that I would like to apply to my hair when it's placed into a BUN only.

It's a mixture of Motions Nourish, Suave Humectant, S-Curl, and various oils.

When I prepare my hair to wear a bun...
1. I will apply ElastaQP Penetrating Moisturizer all over my hair
2. Place hair into a ponytail, and
3. I will apply this product mixture to the length of the ponytail ONLY (not all over).

Is that okay or is it considered "too many products" even though the product mixture is now "one product"???

I think its still many products.... because its still the sum of the component products...even if you use them in lesser amts.

only your hair could really answer this question  Try it and see. If your hair usually doesn't respond well to heavy products maybe it'll be a bit much. But you are just wearing it up in a bun so maybe it will enjoy the extra moisture. How does your hair respond to these ingredients individually?

Individually, my hair responds very well to these products. I decided to combine them to really get rid of them together. Also, Chicoro gave me a good tip when wearing buns about using a cheap conditioner, leave-in, curl activator, and oil as a mixture for her baggie method. So I want to try it out and see if it works for me. ;)

So should I just get rid of all these products I have and just see as money well wasted???

Well...I guess it would be "one" product....but your ingredient listing for the "one" product can be considered pretty extensive....

BUT, if it works, it works! Why knock it?

It can be both... you can think of yourself "creating a new product" or you're just adding the multiple products in one simple step! I have a few of those! :look:

Gosh no! Try it out.... and see if it works. I definitely believe in using up what you buy! I hope it works for you. At least in a bun...it shouldn't be so big a problem unless it makes your hair hard.

I'm mixing stuff all the time, both to get rid of it, and two, I get tired of applying two or three bottles of different stuff, If it doesn't work, I use whatever it is in my conditioner mix, I have a huge jar of deep conditioner....mixed with I don't know what, but once I warm it in the microwave, that stuff moisturizes like nobody's business...

Here, here!
That's how I came up with my Nexxus Mixes!
If only I could find a way to mix my Optimum moisturizers.... :look:
Sometimes the mixes are better than the products alone!

 Thanks for giving me an idea!!! I may warm this mixture up before applying it to the length of my ponytail before twisting it into a bun! :yep:

PB- I think it's a good idea to mix some products. I have recently had a good experience with mixing my Nexxus Humectress, Oils & ORS Olive Oil Hairdress, microwaving it a little and applying it to my ponytail before I make my bun.

When I take my bun down, the hair and ends are VERY moisturized and not dry and brittle like before! So I say try it out at least once! :)
