Do you guys ever make your own? When I check out places like Icing and Claire's, the selection is very limited. Where else can I find them?
I recently started doing this. And, as you mentioned happened to you, I "lost my mind" in terms of craft-store visits/ideas!

1) You're saving money/cutting out the "middle man"
2) You're creating a more tailor made look for your SPECIFIC wardrobe/tastes.
3) You're tapping into your creative side, which many argue is a great outlet for stress release/relaxation etc.
... Plus, if you get good, you could also use your skills to create gifts for friends/fam OR even your own business on the side!
I got into this full force via this YTer's video:

I went to 2 nearby dollar stores and CLEANED UP on some CHEAP (but tasteful/pretty) flowers! I got flowers for DAYS yall (dirt cheap/tailor made for my tastes)...Now mind you, I found that the glue jobs are temporary (I'd say the flower stays on the clip for about 2 - 3 days, then falls off). At first, I was disappointed about that. But, as someone on here mentioned, I realized that being able to take them off simply adds to versatility! Further, I technically only need the flower to stay on for the 1 day that I'm wearing it out! I can just re-glue it next time I need it (glue-guns are the TRUTH! -- got mine for ~$2.50 at Jo-Ann's fabrics!)!
Basically, once I got to thinking about the $ saved and how much I enjoyed it etc, I started taking things into my own hands "artistically-speaking"! Girl, I'm now buying fabric for headwraps (I FINALLY learned how to do it on YT! -- AND discovered on YT the GREAT idea to wear a nylon stocking cap under them to prevent the cloth from drying out my hair! -- I can give the links/more info if anyone is interested!) and head scarves, I bought a 'teach yourself how to crochet' packet (to make interesting head scarves/beanie hats -- with nylon/non-water-absorbing yarn of course), I even thought to buy some nylon fabric and hand stitched it into the inside of my winter hat as a non-water-absorbing lining! (not a pretty job given my poor sewing skills -- but no one will see it! LOL!). I'm currently trying to figure out how to create this (IMHO) beautiful, natural-hair-showcasing look:

(scroll down and click on the pic of the black woman on the far right)
...Not sure, but I think I can achieve it by gluing whatever ornaments I chose to tiny black buttons attached to hair-pins...(other ideas are welcomed though). And don't get me started on "dreadlock" ornaments! I'll be making/using them for when I've done my hair in neat, two stranded twists to be worn in public!

Peace and Blessings!
