Distilled water is water that has been boiled to steam and then condensed back to pure water. In other words, it's boiled to 100 degrees celsius (boiling point) so that it's lifted from impurities and then the pure steam is condensed into a different container. The result, 100% H2O. So it is completely free of any chemicals/minerals/impurities.

Bottled water on the other hand (if it doesn't say "distilled") is most likely spring water (ie ground water) usually from an aquifer (porous rock that allows water to seep though) and thus has minerals in it...(Although some skeptics will tell you some bottled water is just tap water bottled at bottling plants

So with any ol' bottled (spring) water, it's hard to know for sure what you're getting. With distilled, you can rest assured you're getting 100% H20; nothing more, nothing less.
