April 28 29 30 What Are Your Weekend Hair Plans?

I think I'm going to try my first braid out: I'm inspired by a YT video that discussed shrinkage with braid outs versus twist outs.

I'm also going to make a batch of the CurlyProverbz growth oil mix.

My plan is to, tonight, section my hair into 8 sections using those Kimmaytube-recommended hair updo clips and use the following:
  1. Detangler: Soultanicals Hair Glide
  2. Green tea rinse to prevent hair fall
  3. Cleanser: Sheaterra Mud-Poo
  4. Deep conditioner: Bekura Y.A.M. or Mielle Organics DC -- not sure which yet
  5. Leave-in conditioner: Curl Junkie Curl Assurance Smoothing Lotion
  6. Styler: Camille Rose Naturals "Style Setter" under Uncle Funky's Daughter's Curly Magic (I think this gel gives me more hold than my usual gel)
  7. Styling: Braid out . . . Dry my braids under HairFlair dryer attachment for 2 hours, then air dry them overnight. Apply Soultanicals Dressing Oil to braids and hands for the take down. Ponytail to preserve at night.

Nope. :lol: None of the above happened. LOL. I was exhausted. I tried to arise this morning at 4 AM to try to accomplish this but didn't get moving until about 5:05 AM. What ended up happening is below:
  1. Detangler: Soultanicals Hair Glide
  2. Scalp treatment: Silk Elements Pre-Cleanse Scalp Treatment
  3. Cleanser: CRN Ginger Rinse
  4. Deep conditioner: DevaCurl Decadence One Condition
  5. Leave-in conditioner: DevaCurl Decadence One Condition
  6. Styler: Uncle Funky's Daughter's Curly Magic
  7. Styling: 4 banded sections created African threading -style, using elastic ribbon strips. Currently air drying underneath my slap cap. Hopefully this becomes a wearable wash-band-dry-and-wear. (This can't be considered a "wash and go" no matter what YouTube says!)

@Chromia

How is the marshmallow conditioner bar? I was looking at it but I don't hear much about it. How's the slip? Moisture? How do you even use it?!
It's good for moisture, slip, and detangling. But when I bought it I didn't realize how tedious and time consuming it would be to apply conditioner in bar form.

I hold the bar in one hand, use my other hand to press a section of hair against the bar, slide it down the front of the section from roots to ends, then slide it down the back of the same section.

And what makes it even more tedious is having to work with smaller sections of hair with the bar than with liquid or cream conditioner.

Today was only my second or third time using the bar and it broke in half. :ohwell: Less surface area might make it even more tedious to apply next time.

Since Jakeala also suggests using it as a leave-in I think I'll do that instead of using it as a rinse-out, since I already work in small sections when I'm applying leave-in.

When I bought the Marshmallow Conditioner Bar I also bought the Argan Conditioner Bar, so that's another bar I'll have to use. That's what I get for being overzealous during a sale. :look:

@AgeinATL,

Agreed. I no longer use it due to the tedium of the application process.

But I've NEVER smelled anything better in my life. I leave it in my bathroom for aromatherapy.

If she made a liquid ANYTHING or butter with that smell, I'd purchase it for sure.
