I'm having my annual anxiety attack before a salon visit. Yall I need a paper bag!
Once a year I visit my Dominicana sisters for a blow out and trim...and then my hair takes months to recover from the shock! But I get a good trim though?
So yeah that's what we're doing today. Trimming & traumatizing. Thanks in advance for your prayers towards the recovery of my mane & mind.

Thought and prayers for your strands. I thought of trimming my hair this weekend myself....

R/O+Protein: HE Argan Oil of Morocco conditioner
R/O: HE Smooth Rose Hips + Jojoba Oil (to detangle)
Scalp Treatment: Uncle Funky's Daughter Defunk (to soothe)

My hair was SO SO soft when I rinsed #3 out. My hair felt really heavy too (in a good way).
Once I washed with #4, my hair felt super soft and strong.
Awesome. Thanks for letting me know. Sounds like something I won't mind trying out especially since I can now find Olaplex on the ground here in the Bahamas at a better cost than purchasing online.

So I decided that my experience yesterday went well enough for me to take DD & DS #2 back to the salon today. No. Bad idea. They were soooooo crowded we had to leave. And now I'm at the next salon listening to them talk that talk about pelo malo.

They are clueless about how to blow out DD's thick nappy hair. I had to intervene and tell them to please section her hair. Now it's working out but whyd it have to be so hard?? I'm so over some folks pretending that our hair is soooo different and difficult!
Thanks for the rant space ladies but I'm gonna end it here so I can control my annoyance.

Wash 1:
Joico Moisture Recovery Shampoo

Wash 2:
Joico Color Endure Shampoo

Deep Treatment under heat cap for 1 hour:
Fenugreek Hydrating Mask (DIY)

Didn't rinse the mask out and used it as a leave in.

Roller Set with Magnetic Rollers. Dry under LCL dryer. Whipped Shea Butter on ends. Cross wrap.

An hour later yall...we still here!! My whole Sunday...gone. I haven't even cooked dinner yet!! This is why I dont go often. I could have been on a deck enjoying mimosas and omelettes...
....lunch. The stylist is eating her lunch in between DD and DS' hair. I cannot make this **** up yall

I did a steam treatment with my new steamer and put hemp oil in my hair while still warm and put my hair in a high poof.

I left the bangs out and did a co wash treatment after steaming and hemp oiling.

I want to see how long the hemp oil will moisturize my hair until my next wash. (And if the steam and hemp oil combo is a yay or nay)

I feel terrible today, I will work from Home tomorrow and do my hair when the kids aren't here.

But on a positive note I tried a new bun. I didn't get it quite right becasue the instruction to me are terrible. I did get the spirit of the bun and it is quit nice. It took like every spin pin I could find to do it.

My weekend plan :

Moisture weekend

Pre-poo: Chicoro's Moisture Drenched Pre Poo
Poo: AF Stimulating Shampoo
DC: Either Bekura Leche de Babasu OR Natty Naturals Deep Conditioner

Changed this a little.

Did my prepoo first then poo'd. Followed with heavy spray of my rice water mix (rice water, hydrated fenugreek powder and CP tea).

DC: Belle Bar Chebe mixed with a ripe avocado, grapeseed oil and 1 heaping tsp of bhringraj powder. Applied with heat.

Note to self (so far): fine hair loved the Olaplex treatment, coarse hair loved the rice water

Sounds yummy! I bet your hair feels amazing!

Saturday morning I plan to sit (Indian style) and watch a good documentary (probably black history related) and finger detangle while having a cup of coffee.
This was NOT a peaceful detangling session like I anticipated. It was annoying and tedious (toward the back of my head). I think I slept wild the night before and caused friction.

I feel no better today long story. Don't really want or need to go into it.

I did't feel like doing my hair today, but, I started because I need to feel it normal again.

I rinsed with rice water this morning, then applied a kelp deep treatment. Then I applied goddess hair treatment for an hour or so. Rinsed in the shower and now I have on an Aruvedyvic hair mask/conditioner now. I will rinse this later this afternoon and put on a vatika mask, combout and put in four braids.

This afternoon...

Cleanse: TreSemme Lux. Moist. shampoo
D/C: Aussie Smooth 3 Min. Miracle
R/O: Aussie Smooth conditioner (to detangle)
Leave-In: Cantu Coconut curling cream
Styler: Wetline Xtreme (clear) gel
Dry: Air-dry for a wash n go

On Sunday:
Massaged scalp with Nature's Ego fenugreek serum.
Rinsed with water and used a clay blend (added brahmi to my scalp only) and left in for 1hr.
Rinsed and followed with fermented rice water for 10mins.
Styled with Shea mix, and a combo of diluted Eco Flaxseed and Camille Rose Curlmaker. My hair feels a little dry, probably due to the gel combo.

  • Serum: Joico K-Pak Restorative Oil
  • Roller set: Pibbs 514
