I read on another message board that applying coffee is great for darkening hair and giving it body and sheen. The person said that they poured 1/2 pot of brewed cool coffee on their hair prior to shampooing and after shampooing. Then rinsing well and they had the healthiest, shiniest hair. Supposed to work on natural and relaxed hair. Has anyone tried this before? I might try it if I get some feedback from you guys. I trust you!

I have heard of it

If you Google it, you will seen recipes for it, especially for darkening graying hair. Rosemary, nettle, basil and other teas are reported to do the same things. I may try it somewhere in the far future.

Re: I have heard of it

ive heard that mixing it into your henna treatment helps you get a nice reddish hue and tons of shine....

Re: I have heard of it

Yes, the henna I used the last time was mixed with ground coffee and indigo. Result: dark brown hair.

Re: I have heard of it

Thank you so much! I'm going to try it as a rinse.
You guys are so knowledgeable! /images/graemlins/smile.gif I go to this forum first before any of the others!

Sounds interesting. I'm going to try this after my next touch-up & see what it does to my gray.
