My hair is getting thicker. It looks fuller and very healthy. However, The dang flat iron aint doing nothing. I am about 6 weeks post. My roots are just as bumpy but they act like they were flat, after I flat ironed them. I try not to put water-based leave-in close to my roots, but that is not really the problem. I flat ironed my hair last night and wrapped it. It was looking good. When I got up this morning, My hair dont even look like it was freshly flat ironed. It doesnt look bushy just "big". I dont want any braids but it is looking wild. I dont know how to style my hair like this.I am getting very close to being full APL in the back and about 1*2 inches in the from front. The pic in the siggy is about 6weeks old and I have almost a inch of new growth. How do I make my hair lay down. I am wrapping but as soon as I take it out of the wrap, it poof back out in a couple of hours. People at work are like I like your hair like that. One lady was like I "prefer" your hair like that.
I am like :missing:...who? No you don't. It looks wild to me.

I flat iron the front and sides to the side that I am going to wear it on. Do you think I should flat iron it all back. I tried that on the center front and it looks okay, but it got crinkled when I wrapped it last night and did not look the same.

I use BT once or twice a week. I don't know if it is making my hair grow faster, but it is amazing on my scalp, I love it. Topically speaking I use vatika and some other oils with titles to long to type, periodically. I am also in to the ayurveda powders, but my hair only responds to them when I am past 6-weeks. (ie..like now)I just keep hair clean and healthy and I take supplements.

Please offer your suggestions to how you got past this stage and how long it took.

What techniques are "you" using for hair control?

I know alot of ladies here suggest saran wrap. It seems to do much better in place of the flat iron.

I'm at the APL to BSL stage, but when I wear my hair down its mostly flat ironed and cross wrapped. I never tried the saran wrap. At four weeks my hair begin to look puffy too so I just bun it or do a braidout every now and then but mostly bun. Sorry I couldn't be more help..

I forgot about the saran treatment. I guess I can try that.
I would love for anyone to post there hair suggestions. The more the better.

Love ya

Well I am not APL to BSL, but when I was 6 months post, I found that using castor oil and then wrapping my hair with satin scraf helped to lay down the new growth and keep it pretty stright.
