Anything stronger than Aphogee

Aphogee and nexxus emergencee are very strong and I don't think..IMO.. there is anything as strong as that since they both are very hard protein treatments(I use them both with heat to dry hard). Can't wait to see what the rest of the ladies replies are.

I think the dudley product DRC 28 I believe is supposed to be comparable to Aphogee. I don't know if it lasts 4-6 weeks like Aphogee does. Aphogee is just water and protein and a few additives, so I'm not sure if it could get stronger. It would be nice to have a treatment like Aphogee that provides other forms of protein besides animal though.

I am not sure if it is "stronger" but I use something more effective and easy for me. It is Pure Protein by Style One. I add a cap full to protein conditioner (like joico k-pak or aphogee 2 min keratin or something like that) to give it a KICK. It is much better in my opinion and I don't have to get my hair hard. I know adding it to protein conditioner may be overkill, but when my hair is to the point where it needs the Pure Protein, it's not playing games with me!

It is Collagen, basically and it works for me.

It kinda expensive, but last a long time. I emailed them to ask if i could just buy the protein w/o the kit and they do sell that, too.

The last time I put a cap full in about 10 oz. of Cabot's Protein Pac and   My hair was so happy!

But, my lately hair loves protein because I have been over moisturizing. I would not suggest thise for those with dryness issues or with hair that does not like too much protein.

I wonder if you could add some of this to the aphogee treatment to make it more "complete."

I know. The closest thing I can find that gives me that "I just got a protein treatment" feel is the Joico K-pak treatment. I can tell that my hair just got a hardcore protein after usign that under the dryer for 20 min or so (although the directions states 3 min :look: ). That has human hair keratin.

But, still my hair has gotten really stupid on me when I've failed to give it any protein for 4 weeks or so. That's when I need something strong. I think the Joico would be good enough for me if I used it regularly.

I have been looking all over for a Keratin product like the Pure Protein, but I cannot find it for consumer purchase.

Uh-oh... is it collagen. I've been lying to people. I thought it was keratin. :ohwell:

ETA: This stuff works well in relaxers too. I used it last time and I can tell the difference between the hair that had it and hair that didn't (even tho everything else was the same).

yeah, girl, I emailed them and asked about it.

I have yet to try it in my relaxer. I always get so underprocessed and I wondered if the protein would make it worse. :perplexed

What about Penetraiit? I remember this being used on me years ago and it would dry hard like Aphogee. I don't hear anyone mention this. Is it bad?

I do not know if it is sronger, but you can also purchase a silk protein from lotioncrafter.com in various weights.

I believe this one is stronger than Aphogee. It makes the hair very hard like Aphogee and most stylist recommends this to be used only in the salon. It's a combination of keratin and collagen.

I like this one!!! This one looks good. It has Keratin!!!

Edited to add:

I love that you apply it to dry hair. It says "clean" dry hair, though. Does that mean dryhair moisturized hair like mine? most times when it is dry, I have moisturizers on it. Still it looks good. I WANT IT!!!

Have you tried this one? Oh, I love this thread!

Yes, I've tried it. I don't think I used it correctly, in terms of using a very, very moisturizing conditioner after. And at the time I believe I was using to much protein too often, which lead to some minor breakage. I'm really thinking of trying it again.

I so agree!

Anything stronger than tha A ?

If your hair is still breaking, it's not from lack of protein shawty. Trust. It's more likely you need some MOISTURE. Tha A is FULL of protein. FULL.

I know for a fact tha Dudley DRC 28 lasts for 6 weeks and am 50% sure that it extends to 8.

I learnd this from a Paul Mitchell Product Knowledge Trainer...oddly enough, he admitted that it was the strongest product on the market and it is used on non afro clients who have severe damage from highlights, belaching, perms, etc.

Dudley is very tight on their distribution channel and they only sell to licenced cosmotologists. I learned that their reps visit BSS to ensure it is not circulating so the stylists can continue to charge preimum for the treatments.

So, it may be difficult to come accross. It used to be about $38 bucks per bottle and I have seen it up to $50. I think the loophole is found when a BSS owner has a licence - you will find it in those stores. If you live in MIA/FLL area, PM me and I will tell you where you can get it.

I am interested in learning the differences between animal protein and not animal...would that be aloes?

Why woudl they be better for our hair?

Thanks!

I think this is just an FYI thread. I don't recall GymFreak stating that she was having breakage or any other problem.

I have been using Dudley's DRC-28 for years even before LHCF days and it the best protein reconstructor I have ever used and well worth bucks.
This product has to be in my haircare stash at all times.
I noticed that several Bss in SC are selling it now ,I bought mine from a NY BSS.

Dudleys DRC-28 is stronger last 6-8 weeks. Expensive about 50.00 a bottle for the same size as the large bottle of AphoGHEE. Can order from IBEAUTYNY.com

I tried to do an Aphogee treatment and my hair was frizzy for days and kept breaking off. It took awhile to get it back on track. I don't know what happened. This was over a year ago and I never tried again.
