Please list some comparable serums or close seconds to the superstar serum, my pocket can't take that type of hit right now. If there is a thread on this exact subject matter, please feel free to bump it, but I couldn't find one.

I love CHI SI so I can understand you not wanting to pay the price.

But I've read that Sally's makes a generic brand that is comparable and got pretty good reviews from most here. So maybe you can try to find those threads. What is her brand called, GVP or something like that?

I use the Generic Chi Silk Infusion from Sally's. It works the same for me. I don't think I'll every buy the real one again.

also you can try ebay. I got 3 big bottles of silk infusion for like $21 they were brand new & sealed. HTH!

I agree. You can find the generic version at Sally's. I think it costs $8.99.

I've seen people say that Moroccan Oil is better, but only if your hair likes silicones. It is very pricey though, like $40 for a bottle. I've used it and it goes on light, but i found out my hair doesn't like 'cones. You don't have to use alot...a bottle would probably last more than a year.

WHAT...That better be a gallon sized bottle

:lachen:No, it's only 3.4 oz, but it'll last a long time. Cosmeticmagic.com has it sale now for $30.95.

Sam's has a Chi 3 pack for $22. It's the 12oz silk infusion, keratin mist and shampoo.

I dislike Chi Silk Infusion....it's too heavy.

I use:

--Aveda Brilliant Emollient Finishing Gloss
--Aveda Light Elements Smoothing Fluid (comparable to the Emollient Finishing Gloss...just a little lighter)
--Moroccanoil Oil Treatment

ETA: Now that I fullly read your post, these are probably as expensive or more expensive than the Chi/

I recently started using CHI and i fell in love with it but before i was using that i was using FX Silk Drops and that was pretty good
heres the ingredients: Cyclomethicone,Dimethiconol,Tocopheryl Acetate(vitamin e)
Panthenol(vitamin b5) Retinyl Palmilate(vitamin a) Silk Protein ,Fragrance.

Ingredients:

Cyclomethicone, Dimethiconol, Dimethicone, C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate, Panthenol, Ethyl Ester of Hydrolyzed Silk, Phenoxyethanol, Fragrance, D&C Yellow 11, D&C Red 17, Zinc Oxide, Titanium Dioxide, Mica, Boron Nitride Powder.

I was going to suggest Design Essentials because the ingredients are nearly the same, but I paid $20 for a bottle of that...

I need to check out Sally's version. These chemicals cost too much!

I use Sally's generic version it works just the same. I even check the ingredients with the Chi and they are exactly the same. Plus Sally's brand cost just $8.99 compare to the high price of Chi.

I've heard of cowboy magic before but where do you purchase it from?

I bought my Cowboy Magic Detangler and Shine from Dover's Saddlery

I was going to suggest FX. I like it better than SI to be honest. It is lighter.

I just did use the Sally's version ($8.99) and WOOOOOWWWWW..... I used to have to add oil after flat ironing for shine, but this time I needed nothing. Nothing! After I shampooed and DC'd, I followed Ateeya's regimen and just put my leave-in conditioner and the GVP Silk infusion. It smells like a man! Cologne :drunk: Wrapped it (nice slip), and before I even flat-ironed it after it dried it was shiny. I'm staring at the ingredient list and there's no oil, I'm like what is in here, crack?!!! I'm in love! My hair smells wicked and fresh and shiny and my bob has body.

I'm trying John Frieda Weather Works out as an alternative so far so good

:lachen::lachen:It does smell like a man. Lacio Lacio smells like man to me too.
