Anyone with light-brown highlights?

There's only a few more months until summer and it's almost that time for me to highlight my hair again. However, I always have trouble finding a highlighting/hair color product that gives me light-brown highlights (with no red tone). Every time I do highlight my hair I always get the same results: brownish-red highlights. Sometimes if I highlight my hair with blonde highlights and then go over them with a light-brown haircolor I get some light-brown color, however it does even more damage to my hair and I still get some brassiness. I guess my question is can you ladies recommend any good highlighting products (for dark brown hair) that will allow me to acheive light-brown highlights with no red tones?

If I cannot achieve this, my last resort is to hit up the hair salon!

try the l'oreal hi-color for dark hair only. i swear by that product. you can get it at sally's and they have a huge spectrum of colors.

if you are relaxed use the oreor 20 developer.
