Anyone using Hot rollers

I have a Remington one. I use it in emergency situations only and it has been about 6 months since I have blown the dust off of it.

Honestly, the curls I get from it are not worth the heat. They don't really last that long.

But, I do prefer it over a curling iron.

But, I will use my Carusos before anything else anyway. It has taken the place of the Remington setter really. The curls are so much better, too.

Thanks HoneyD. I have Caruso but the curls fall out too soon. Maybe something I am doing wrong. So I thought maybe without the water(steam) it will hold better...:perplexed

I agree with honeydew...I had the same experience. Maybe u should try some mouse or setting lotion in your hair and/or in the steamer for the curls to last longer? Also leave the rollers in longer. How long do u have it on the steamer?

Ive found flexirod curls last well with no heat too.

My hair has trouble holding curl too....so Im working on increasing elasticity. I read on macherie's site that not holding curl is a sign of poor elasticity bc it wont stretch.

Good Point Leslie. I leave the rollers in the steam a little long so that they can get really wet. Maybe i should leave them longer in the hair. Also my hair might be abit porous which does not help.

Maybe I should save my money and not buy this.:perplexed

I notice that my Caruso curls last longer when I leave them in longr so they can dry. I have taken them out after 5 min or so and my hair looks good, but feels the same way it does when it is over-moisturized or if I have been out on a cool humid day. then the curls fall in NO TIME. If I leave them in for 15 min or even 30 min, the curls last longer.

I also agree about the time on the steamer. For me, just a 4-6 secs top.
