I saw an add for this site called esalon.com. They ask you a bunch of questions and they claim to formulate a custom color for you based off of your answers. They even have models for you to choose from so that you can see what the color would look like on you. I'm really itching to dye my hair and I was wondering if anyone has tried them before.

I'm a bit nervous, but I just ordered from them; I found a deal on aol.com's "wowchers" and managed to get my color (the tools included) for FREE. It was supposed to be only $12 according to the promodeal but when I entered the code, the total was 0.00 (0.00 including shipping) and the site stated that payment info wasn't necessary. So, I figure there's nothing to lose! Also, since they asked about my hair history, condition, etc. they are mixing a demi-permanent color for my hair instead of a permanent, which should be much gentler for my hair. :)

********UPDATE****** I was wrong! I actually forgot that prior to getting the wowcher code, I had to pay $12 for it >_< then when I applied the code on the esalon website, there was a 0.00 total. So you actually pay 12.00 but thats 53% off which is still good

I have never heard of this.

Off to investigate...

ETA:

They won't let me go as light as I want to.
So I'll pass.:nono:

But Good Luck to whoever decides to use it!:yep:

Oh my goodness.

Okay, I received my package today (super fast considering I ordered Monday afternoon!) and I get this nice, heavy box-- ladies, I haven't tried the actual product yet but so far, I think I'm in love, lol

Everything is packaged beautifully; there's 2 boxes inside the box: one for the free coloring tools and one for the customized hair color. I will try to post pics tomorrow of everything; the customized color box is nice but the free color tools is what shocked me. There is a cape, bowl, tint brush, 4 hair clips and even a digital timer(!!) in the box! Everything in there is top notch quality as well; no cheap, flimsy tools or materials. Even in the custom color box, aside from the color and developer, if you wind up getting a demi-permanent custom color, they send you a color fill treatment to make color take better in the lighter parts of your hair (color filling is if you have a lot of highlights/lighter hair and choose a dark custom color) and in the box they also included gloves and cotton pads, as well as packets of a color preserving leave-in and stain remover.

I am excited, to say the least. Just had to let ya'll know!!!

@LaBlaCha I did, actually :yep: The color fill treatment that I had to apply prior to the demi color really helped it to apply evenly and be true to description. My hair felt smooth and conditioned afterwards, and I didn't experience any sort of severe dryness. I would definitely recommend it :)
