Hey LD
, i'm not sure if you remember me but i was a member from 2002-3.
To answer your question:
Yes i have stopped stretching my relaxers. I can remember when i first started viewing the hair boards I relaxed every 8 weeks. Then i tried to jump from 8 weeks to 14 weeks without knowing the tolerance of my hair. I didn't even gradually build up to it, i just did it. As a result I did more harm than good. I now relax comfortably every 10-12 weeks with no breakage issues or problems. I also think its a matter of how you style your hair in the interim.. i like to wear my hair out (as many have mentioned) and have found that many stretching methods dont work well on me (CW washes, I dont want to wear weaves or braids, etc) so relaxing every 10-12 weeks is best for me.
