First of all - yaaay! The forum's back!!

CHI Turbo is one of the best flatirons, right? So I'm looking to buy it in NY. I looked in a huge BSS at the end of Fulton Street, but no CHI!! I'd like to pick one up next week; I'm taking down my braids this weekend and will probably need to flatiron at least once every other week, if my rollersets don't come out as straight as I'd like.

Also, what heat protectant would you guys suggest for really thick 4a hair? Thanks, guys.

Did I mention how happy I am the forums are back?

lol. I saw a chi in a salon on 42nd street, across from bryant park...Im not sure what it was called but it seemed similar to ulta, trade secrets in layout. hth..or you could order from folica.com very fast shipping to ny (I got mine the very next day), and return policy is good for 30 days so if you dont like it you can send it back (you pay shipping ofcourse but its probably like 4 bucks or so)

You can find it at Ricky's in the village. There is one on B'way near NYU, on 8th street across from BBQ's and one on 6th ave near 11th street.

I have a FHI and it's the bomb. I researched both and I went with FHI because I think it gets hotter than a CHI if I remember correctly. But both irons are great.

As far as heat protectants I use Beyond the Zone's Turn up the Heat with a dab of Extreme Shine to make my hair shine.

But if you're interested. I bought mine off of ebay. I got two one for me and one for my Mom and they ship in like two days. They sell both FHI and CHI irons.

Thanks, guys. I didn't know the difference between a CHI and FHI, but they both seem pretty good. Judging by the prices that the BSS's are quoting me, it looks like Ebay is the way to go. .
