Hello,
I was browsing your Cosmetics Labeling Act and it reads that all cosmetic products ingredients must be declared in descending order of predominance.
It has come to my attention that a few cosmetic hair products-for hair aid and grooming is witholding information about their ingredients from consumers. One of the products is made from Kemi-All Natural hair and Skin Products. The specific product that I am concerned about from this company is an "all natural hair oil" product, brand named Kemi Oyl Liquid Gold. On the bottle it lists the ingredients as "Essential Oils , Fragrance." Their website can be found at http://www.kemilabs.com.
I frequently visit a hair forum where each member is conscious about their physical health and also the health of our hair. We would like to know things such as the EXACT ingredients-since many of us have allergies, such as myself and we would also like to know the extent of parabens that a product may contain since a lot of us are avoiding parabens to better our physical health.
Kemi Oyl does not list any parabens which leads me to believe that the product may not have a good shelf life or that it may be potentially harmful to our health. It also doesn't list which kinds of oils that are in the product, and that worries me because I have allergies to some nut oils. This product is found in many drugstores and also beauty supply stores across America. We have contacted Kemi Labs about these ingredients and they have told us that their ingredient listing are a "secret" since they don't want their formulas to be stolen. As you can tell we are very concerned.
Another product label that has come to my attention is a product by the name BBD or BADD PRODUCTS. This product label is made by a company called BADD PRODUCTS. They make claims for stonger hair and faster hair growth but also don't provide a listing of their ingredients. Again, memebers of the hair forum that I frequent have emailed them for information and recieve no information. Their website and products can be found at http://www.baddproducts.com/.
Please contact me as soon as possible, so I can know if I should avoid this product or if there is something that I can do to find the ingredients to this product. Thanks in advance-(my name)

HoneyDew said:You are so right about these points!
Also, how can it just be essential oils and fragrance. Most essentials oils need a carrier oil. What are they using for that and why is it not listed! Also is this fragrance they use a natural one or a perfume? They really need to keep it real.
MizaniMami said:Okay, and what about parabens? Personally I can give a hoot about parabens but it still would be nice to know.
OT but you have a pretty name! Almost like mineMizaniMami said:The FDA sent me this letter this morning. I will update as soon as I get more infor from them.

Did you ever consider just contacting Kemi Oyl for the answer? I've been in contact with them before and they're very open and professional.
One of the mods-Beverly-has a direct contact with one of the staff there.
MizaniMami said:Of course I have. They just told me that it was confidential. They didn't want the formula leaked.
