If so, what is the current state of you hair now and what made you decide to choose? I ask this b/c here is my story:

I was natural for close to 2 years before my recent texturizer in January and for the 3 months previous I wore braid. When I first got the braids I had a super short twa lucky for me the braider was actually able to catch it to braid. Now that I think about it, my hair was actually longer than I thought. After being in braids for 3 months, I took them out and got a texturizer BIG mistake for me. My texturizer was more of a relaxer, it was str8, the pics that I posted here are from have LOADS of product in my hair. The trim was well uneven and the experience was horrible, to say the least.

So once again, I am transitioning to my back to my natural hair. This will be my 3rd and final time, going natural. The first two times I did not transition at all I just chopped it off. This time around, I plan on transitioning w/the help of yarn braids and kinky twist extensions. I found out that my hair in it natural state is better for me. My hair was healthy and the longest it had ever been. When I got my hair pressed, the week before I got the texturizer, my hair was a little bit passed my shoulders…I was amazed. My hair has NEVER been longer than chin length.

So my questions are this:
--if you transitioned or bced more than once and are currently natural what made you stick with it?
--Are you happy with your decision?

Be blessed ladies,
tishee

I've BC'd twice.
--if you transitioned or bced more than once and are currently natural what made you stick with it?
I learned how to work with my hair and was determined to stick to being natural.

--Are you happy with your decision?
I'm ver happy with my decision. I'll admit, sometimes, when I see some of the relaxed heads on this site, I find myself thinking... :ohwell:

I'd been natural for eons cause i was always in braids or weaves and i love to colour my hair blonde-ish shades and it grew to about shoulder lenghth and i kept trimming (I felt it was getting in the way of some of my braid styles:perplexed ), then when i started coming on to the site last year i saw loads of gorgeous relaxed and texlaxed heads and decided to texlax, bad idea (for me). The bits that were lightened became straighter than I wanted while my new growth (about 3 inches) was texlaxed to perfection so I decided to chop off the too straight ends and the texlaxed bit last month cause i love the fullness of my natural and figure it would be easier to deal with hair with only one chemical process (colour) going on

thanks missnappylady....great post. Both times when I was natural I had no idea how to deal with my natural hair...this I have vowed to learn this time around. Co-siging with your second answer. The ladies here have BEAUTIFUL hair.

thanks hothair. Today, I got yarn braids and I plan on getting a trim of my ends every 3 months until all the chemical ends are gone. Hopefully, the crown and glory method will give me great results this time around.

This will be my 7th and hopefully final time. I had no desire to transition, I just chopped and went from there. I really have not learn how to do natural styles, but I am determined to learn. My hair is not damaged, but I think it is better off natural or lightly texlaxed.

co-signing with you sweetie.

I have done the big chop twice in my life but never with the real intent to be natural for life. It was more along the lines of cutting off the damaged relaxed to start afresh.

I have big chopped 3 times in my life. I loved being natural however did not have all the resources about hair that I have now. I am currently relaxed. I like my hair both ways and one day want to be natural again and stay that way.
