ok...so i have my products and everything...the PROBLEM lies in the fact that i sleep like a crazy person (i mean, my scarves/bonnets usually make their way off of my head during the night unless i use two). is there ANYONE out there who DCs overnight and has devised a method to keep their pillow dry?

thanks :drunk:

Yeah I sleep like Crazy all of the time!
Usually when i wake up i have Conditoner/Water Running Down My neck!
NOT A GOOD FEELING:nono:
It makes me feel Gross!
I would like to know as well too!

I just wear a plastic cap and just pull my ears out from under it. I sleep wild also and when i wake up, my edges are always completely bone dry :lachen:

My pillow never gets wet though because the plastic cap is tight. I think that's the key.

  • towel on pillow
  • two or more plastic caps covered by a light shower cap
  • soft paper towel folded to the front and back of plastic cap
:yep:

I always put an athletic headband around the baggie then cover with my satin scarf. That holds it on nice and snug. I wear the scarf on top because I hate to hear the baggie crinkle when I sleep :look:

wow...this sounds great. i saw a video (name of the person escapes me) where someone baggies with a headband around the plastic cap. i tried and stayed up half the night nervous it would come off (it did after about 6 hours) but maybe the scarf on top would add more hold...

...thank you very much!

I use this around the perimeter of my head before putting on my plastic cap

I deep conditioned overnight yesterday for the first time. I used only one plastic cap and put a towel over my pillow. I am a restless sleeper and I did not have any leakage. Good luck--the results are worth the extra pain:yep:

So the other tip didn't work. Try this.

Make a large stocking cap out of Thigh-highs, the ones with the elastic aournd the band. Place the stocking cap over the plastic bag ensuring that the caps elastic is in contact with your forehead and covers the nap area. It's not sexy but this should work.

This is exactly what I do when I DC overnight. The key is making sure that the elastic on the plastic cap is very tight. Swap them out often because they get raggedy and loosen up before long.

I do this too except I put a bonnet over my scarf. After hearing that bag crinkle a couple times and having no clue where the noise was coming from (like I was laying on plastic, forgot about the baggie :lachen:) I got rsourceful/creative. Also, make sure you press all of the air out of the bag.

I use the baggie and a bonnet over it that usually keeps it in place sometimes the plastic slips back a little in the top but its fine I am more concerned about my ends. I love sleeping with the conditioner in DPR really makes the comb just slide through.

I usually squeeze all excess water out before putting on my conditioner. Then I apply the conditioner in small amounts massaging it into my hair and scalp. This way there is NO drip factor. I wrap my head with plastic wrap and then tie down with a scarf.

BTW: I use plastic wrap instead of plastic caps because they are a lot quieter.

screw sexy! lol! i could always put my wrap over that if i were going out!

this is reallllly smart...thanks for that big ol roll of saran wrap, mom

I use a showercap, squeeze all of the air out (helps stop the crinklecrinkle) and rock a do-rag (or a wave cap - the things the men wear). The ties on the do rag insure that it's not going anywhere - I can't sleep in a scarf, period, as it's coming off in the middle of the night.

Great tip. Never thought to do that. Thanks for sharing.

This is exactly what I do. Plastic wrap is so much better for overnight conditioning...less crinkly noise. I also apply a bonnet over the scarf.:yep:

i second this. I use a tight plactic cap. not the cheap ones that come from the hair store in a rubberband either (they're too loose). and then put a satin cap on top of it, or maybe a tight satin wrap with a cap on top of that. one of them will still be on when you wake up. yeah when i sleep with just a plastic cap my edges somehow alway make it out too
