Anyone have a DH, SO or BF with a mental illness

My husband has passive aggressive personality disorder. It's very hard to maintain a relationship with this type of person, but I persevere because we have a daughter. Feel free to PM me.

I had an ex boyfriend that I suspected had a mental illness. I left him once the signs started showing up. I'm fairly new around here, but feel free to PM me as well.

My son's father has severe control/anger issues..he never received a clinical diagnosis...
(I missed/ignored some tell-tale signs..in the beginning - I was 19 and very inexperienced.)

He won't see anybody about it..because he still thinks that I have the problem...not him

His exact words..."If you would just do like I said...then we would could be happy and wouldn't have these problems!"...

After things got out of hand..his family called me and said ..We were hoping "this side" of him...had passed....and asked me to pray for him.

Which I do...but from my own apartment...and not in a relationship with him..

Some things can be helped...and some things can't..my advice is ask God to lead you in what decision needs to be made...please don't try to do it on your own...because often..our emotions and feelings..can cause us to make unhealthy decisions or choices...

Please be encouraged and take care of yourself!

Yes my husband has Post Trauma Stress Disorder and I believe that he is also bio polar. It has been very hard to live with especially the mood swings. One day or should I say one minute life is great and he is in love with me the next day he doesn't want to live with me any longer. I'm about at my end wits and I believe that this marriage is also.

PM me is you need to talk.

Hi everyone, thank you for responding. I am thinking of starting a support group around this. I knew for those of us that are still in these relationships or even those that had to end things, we love the people that have these conditions. It is about understanding the illness better and understanding ourselves and how our loved ones illnesses affect us.

I will work on getting a group together. Those who PMed me, I will PM back and ask if you are ok to share in a group kind of setting.

I believe my ex is suffering from depression. What's sad is a lot of men won't even go to the doctor if something is physically wrong, so convincing them to seek physciatric help and/or therapy is a long shot.

I have a degree in psychology if you want to PM me for questions.

My BF is suffering from post tramua sepression, he was clinically depressed before. Im sure he is bipolar . I love him an feel like if i stay with him he'll ger better and plus we have beautiful daughter together and I dont want to leave him especially if he isnt harming us.. part of his depression is because we are 1300miles apart at the moment. He was has chronic pain from an accident so he get prescribed medicationS for that as well as medicationS for the depression.. He takes about 5 different types of medication and hes an avid smoker.. I fear for him everyday... At times I feel like calling his doctors to stop prescribing him so many medications. He an his mother do not know what to do as fear as getting them to stop giving them to him and I believe they are altering his mind and behavior.. he isnt all crazy but when he gets mad he gets MAD and the depression mixed with the bipolar can be an ugly sight..
