I bought the maxiglide and received the miniglide in the package. That was about 8 months ago and so far, I have used the miniglide only and I LOVE it. I use it only on my NG and it gets my root as straight as ever - just like I had a relaxer.

Be very careful. It has no heat dial and it can be dangerously hot. It singed on section of my hair off. :mad:I warn people to be very careful w using this iron.

is it really small?

It looks just like the pic. Yes it is small that's why I use it only on my ng and not the ends. I have fine - medium hair and it has never burnt off any of my hair. I do not use it on my ends; it is a wonderful product that helps me stretch my relaxer for 4 months.

I agree, I used mine before and it will burn your hair and pull it out. I personally don't like the spikey things and when I use my maxiglide. I never use the spikey plate. I always use the flat plate in my mines:)

Wow! Am I understanding this right? The Miniglide has no heat adjustment? It just heats up on it's own? I'd like to straighten my roots, but that is scary.

My miniglide came with the maxiglide I ordered....I only used it once and I really liked the results. I haven't used it anymore because I was on the 5 month no-heat challenge that ended in September, now I haven't used it because I'm waiting to do a length check on my one year LHCF anniversary which is this coming Feb 2007.

It is set to use the highest setting the maxiglide has. I will never ever use any iron without a temp dial again. I really think Maxius should remake the miniglide with temp contol.

Thanks for the response. I will find a small iron where I can adjust the heat, because I like to be in control.

Solia has a 1/2 inch one. THat's a little bigger, but it is smaller than the regular one.

Whoa. Look at the teeth on that little thing. I wouldn't put it near my hair. :nono:

That is why I sold mine on ebay. THose little teeth turned me off!

I have the miniglide and I used it once to straighten my new growth with good results. I do agree that you have to be very careful because the miniglide does not have a temperature control dial. Also, it only has the comb (spike) plates, it does not come with the removal flat plates that the maxiglide has. I believe this product is good for touching up new growth only.

I use my Miniglide occasionally and I haven't had an problems with it. I just use it to touch up frizzy areas.
