It must be damage, my hair strands thicken in places along them. Typically at the bottom. There is no splitting, it just looks and feels thicker on the strands no more than about 2 inches up. I can't find it anywhere else on the internet. Im not really sure what it is.. any clues?

What is your hair history, what have you done to you hair in the past two years?

It could be something you are doing but it also could be something you did in the past to thicken your hair at that time. Our hair tells a story and its reflected in the thickness/health/feel of your hair at each point. Again, that is unless you are doing something that is thinning out your hair, although usually you would see the ends as the weakest/thinest.

Erm. No idea, im not relaxed havent attempted to thicken it as its very thick. Its not like 'thinner' n places though its thicker in places. Hard to explain. Think it could be damage then where I have done a protein treatment it has repaired it and made it weird?

I've noticed this too, there are random spots along my strands that seem to be thick and then look normal on other spots..

I have something like this most of my strands are thick then there are some like x3 thicker! I don't worry about it though

Since im guessing you have kinky hair that could be the reason.....

Or it could be a getting ready to slit.....just cut a strand in the middle of the thickened part and see if you can detect any splitting then.....
