Hi Ladies.

I am loving starting my journey again but, but now I am nearly 6 weeks post, I have major regrowth:grin:
BUT I feel very UNGLAMOUROUS, my protective style is swept up messy bun that I can rock but there is no hiding the roots and I feel a little unkept!
I remember when I was not on this journey (Again) my broken, overprocessed hair but shiny (I was kiding myself it was healthy!!) would be styled up and most of the time I would feel like a thousand dollars, As I relaxed every 6 weeks it was never long before I got back the SWING.

But to feel like this already at 6 weeks, DAMN, I am trying to get to 12.
I have a date on the weekend to and I just dont feel as though I will look the best I can.

Please tell me I am not alone and that I am not just vain....LOL

I'm at work airdrying in a bun. I'd feel worse but last week I came in here with some swang that they couldn't believe. (I only say that because of the many compliments :lick:...) This post is making me wanna flat iron tomorrow morning :look:

Good on you girl, sometime you just got to get your swing and remind yourself why we but ourselves through what we

I feel you. 12 weeks is tough and I'm gonna go longer if I can. I'm trying to decide whether I want to continue coloring (light honey brown) or relaxing. I will not do both.

AND I'm doing no direct heat so If I don't roller set faithfully I'm a hot mess. My tiny NG spirals are cute but I'm thinking of getting a hammer-style blow dryer today to stretch and flatten them out so that my sets last a but longer. Did I mention the left side of the middle of my length is underprocessed and dries Super curly? Girl please. :lachen:

Hey, good luck with taming those curls esp the part in the middle:lachen:
I wish I was cool enough to just through on a wig

The key to my transition was the wash and deep condition often instead of stretching out my wash cycles. I was recently (already back to texlaxed from natural) wearing my hair in a bun to "stretch" my time between touch ups and boy oh boy was that "ugly". I had to change my hairstyle up! Because I cannot be at work looking "ugh" at my desk and especially not around that time of the month where I tend to feel less than cute anyways.

So I try to wear my hair down Mon-Wednesday and then bun Thurs-Friday (more casual days) and bun all weekend until Sunday wash, rollerset, style and go!

I hope this helps. You will be so proud of yourself when you make it to your 12 week stretch!

You will be so proud of yourself when you make it to your 12 week stretch! So TRUE! Especially when you get to enjoy that retention.

I feel U

You have a point at the moment I wash once a week, and hair feels OK for a few days after, may I should step it up to twice a week

But from start to finish to take 3plus hours and I just cant see where I would fit a second washday into my life :ohwell:

Yeah I feel you. I have been rocking a bun this week and I am not feeling it. I just didn't have time to really style my hair last weekend so it is what is . Usually I'll jazz it up w/a flower or nice clip or something.

I was feeling bad doing only wash-n gos for a few days. I'm using the wrong gel so right now, they are not my favorite hairstyle right now. I'm doing the braidout puff and it's making me feel a lot better. Maybe you should try a different hairstyle for a couple days.

Oh girl at least you can jazz it up:grin:
It feels as though EVERY social event in my calender is between my 7th and 12th week post:wallbash: relaxer, when my hair looks particular unkept:pullhair:

:reddancer:Girl save some hair for the rest of us, you have plenty

I am sure you will do it, and get those earrings

I've been feeling unglamourous since I removed my braids at the weekend. I have very messy transitioning hair indeed, which ain't easy getting into buns either :nono:. Will have to make do until I either BC or get twists done :yep:

I've been wearing a beanie for 2 weeks....very unglamarous...don't panic, I did wash my hair in between...

That's how i felt today when i took out my bantu knots they were a mess, man i looked so raggedy.... the back was so curly and the front..... man please i felt so embrassed i ended up picking my hair out.

I feel like that sometimes. I felt like that today because I did not put oil on my hair last night and I haven't in a few days so something wasn't "quite right".

But if I were you I would just stick it out and then before your date give her hair some tlc and flatiron it or whatever. (don't worry about what it looks like at work lol)

This past weekend I had a date and did my hair, went out into the humidity and POOF....it was like I had done nothing. So even that isn't guaranteed. lol I am stil wonder what he was thinking. lol

Anyway, girl I feel like that sometimes. I can feel fantabulous one day and maybe even the 2nd day and then things take a turn for the worse.

Oh dear, :bighug:get well soon, I am suffering with it on my arms too. But me getting it in the UK summer is so funny, maybe we have actually had a summer for once :lachen:

You get well soon as well! I have never had heat rash before ugh why now - this morning I wanted to cry - everyone tells me they do not notice though.

I find myself trying to do some strange things to my hair to look half decent. so hard without the HEAT:nono: I need to try me some bantu knots
