You might make everything a bit easier of you just took a multi-vitamin. That way you don't have to worry about adding things on to your regimen. If you need more of something, buy separate supplements for that particular mineral.

As a general note: I always found it odd that people would pick and choose what vitamins they take (i.e. taking Biotin, B-5, and MSM only). Minerals often need each other to reach their maximum potential. They work together as a unit. When you only take one or two supplements you are, in a sense cheating yourself. I'm always amazed at women who say "do I need to add this to my regimen" because it's logical to cover all the basics before you start trying to extend your growth phase. It's harder to build a head of healthy hair with no base. Vitamin A, C, D, Iron, Calcium, etc are the basics. The B-complex is a unit, thus the name "complex". They are supposed to be taken together. Besides, it's easier to do that anyway. Finding just b-12 or b-6 is a pain!!! /images/graemlins/drunk.gif

The solution is to choose a good hair vitamin and then chose what vitamins you need for other health reasons. I have taken the same combo for about 2 years and I am very pleased with the results.

Thanks, Ngaa. Having an online album is good for motivation. Forces you to take care of your hair, otherwise folks will go to your album for a chuckle. /images/graemlins/blush.gif /images/graemlins/wink.gif

Bett1e,

Actually it's the reverse. You should take of your body first, and your hair second. Any doctor would agree with me on that. I hope that your hair condition is secondary to the well-being of your vital organs, blood, tissue, and bones. An unhealthy body produces unhealthy hair. And as I stated before, it's harder to build a head of healthy hair with no base. Besides, if you get sick having long hair might be good for moral, but it’s not going to do much for your physical recovery.

/images/graemlins/huh.gif I am taking a multi already...... /images/graemlins/ohwell.gif Just wanted to know about B-12 as opposed to B-5. I'm sure most take a multi and just add MORE of certain supplements. Not many of us are just looking for one particular supplement...and that's it. /images/graemlins/confused.gif

They're not the same. B-5 is there. It is Pantothenic Acid. It's on the 3rd page after you click the "B Vitamins" link on www.puritan.com .

My post was in reply to the person who keeps having to add vitamins for her hair. I personally chose my health supplements and then decided what hair vitamin I want to take.

Before my hair became an issue and when the issue is over, I will continue to take Calcium for bone health, COQ10 for heart health, and Esther C for immune health. My hair vitamin:Hairengergizer has all the hair ingredients that I want. As others add and change vitamins for their hair, I stick with my hairenergizer vitamins.

P.S. Weekly, I try to make a picture of Soylicious which is a delicious chocolate protein drink. It tastes just like chocolate milk so it is very easy to drink. It comes in a powered form and you can mix it with juice, milk or water. I make pitcher of it with lactaid milk. The protein drink contains a number of vitamins as well.
