Hello Ladies,

I don't know what others have been doing, but when do you normally start using protective wraps on your child. I have a 9 month old girl and I have tried to put stocking caps on her head but they always seem to come off. Does any one have any suggestions and what's really worked for you?

I dont have any kids so i'm speaking purely with my opinion. You should just get her a satin pillowcase and call it a day. She's a baby and unless she's a diva, she shouldn't care about having long hair. Just as long as you properly moisturize and condition it, her hair will be fine. good luck with your little angel!

My sis found abby wave caps for her not even two year old son. Works wonders. I suggest one of those or a baby bonnet! Got start them earlier.

Well growing up, me and my sisters always had braids or cornrows (that my mom did). So.... she had us wearing scarves from when we were little, and I mean like ages 2/3 y/o. She had 4 girls/4 heads to do, and wanted to keep those braids fresh for as long as we could, lol........... But it was cool, and we just got into the habit of it very easily. To this day, years later, i wouldn DARE dream of laying my head on the pillow without something covering/protecting it. So im so glad that this was instilled in me.

So in my opinion.... the earlier the better. You are never "too young" or too little for breakage/damage to occur. I think the "basics" of healthy hair care should start as early as possible... and covering the hair, to me, is very basic. :)

Thank you very much ladies for all of your input. I think that the easiest thing for me right now are the protective pilow cases/satin...Where would I find that or is it just a normal satin pillow case that I could purchase at a department store, etc?
