I need a product that'll give me the slick look when in a Bun or around the edges without the gel feel. You know the dry and crunchy feel you get afterwards because of the protein. I'm 6 weeks into needing a retouch and wanting to go longer so I really need some good advice.

SAMY Shape-in gel is very light and easy to comb through. It's a clear gel, but it doesn't feel like it. Your hair will still be soft (no dry crunchy feeling). And a little goes a long way. You can find it on hsn.com

Carol's Daughter Healthy Hair butter is also a good choice. This one is a cream-like wax. This one holds down fly-aways well, but may be a little thick. As witht he one above, a little bit is all you need for the base.

I'll be getting my Carol's Healthy Hair Butter tomorrow so I'll try that first but I may also get the gel. Thanks for the advice

I use Elasta QP Glaze. It kind of reminds me of Let's Jam but it's not as greasy IMO. I put that on and tie it down with a scarf for a few minutes. HTH.

Please try Fantasia's Frizz Buster Straightening Gel. It will lay those edges down. I like to tied it down with a scarf after I apply it.

I like Fantasia's Frizz Buster Straightening Gel b/c it does not flake. It's very light. I usually use my leave-in (Aveda Elixir) and then the gel. Then I put on my scard and it's nice and smooth. Afterwards, I apply a little pomade for extra shine.
