This may not be very helpful but I think in an article from Sistaslick on associated press she mentioned something to the effect of your natural PH level effecting how the relaxer takes I think she may have had a suggestion in the article BUT I'm not a 100%. I've referenced her so hopefully she'll take a look and help out
Ok found the article (I had printed it off). It said that you should use a stronger strength relaxer and wash your hair 2 days before the relaxer. As that will help keep your natural acidic scalp secretions at bay....The title of the article is "Getting to know your hair properties." Hope this helps
thats true, I read her article cause my relaxers would never take too. Im West African and my hair is veeeeeeeeeeery resistant. After doing what she said my hair actually looks relaxed now lol
