Any relaxed ladies ever dye or highlight their own hair?

A fellow hairlista is planning to highlight her own hair but she keeps coming across brands that say it shouldn't be used on relaxed hair. If you are relaxed or have been relaxed, what brands have you used successfully or know of?


Please no "leave it to the professionals" lol that's not what she's looking for and there are no aveda schools near her.

I've used clairols textures and tones to dye my hair for many years and have had no problems.

I Like Silk Elements color kits... and it is designed for natural or relaxed hair.

I've used Garnier Fructis for about 5 years now and so far i haven't had any problems. You should tell your friend to use REDKEN's extreme CAT treatment just before doing her colour as i find it helps reduce any possible damage i might get. If you check the REDKEN website it also gives directions on how you could use it. Hope this helps
